Right. The new phone. I grab it, grin, and head out. *** I find Kira standing in a circle of female elders, nodding as one of them waves parchment around and talks animatedly about ceremonial rites. She looks up the moment I step into the room.

Her voice rises at the end. "My apologies for that. Actually, Kira is a very developed artificial intelligence who's specialized in diagnosing and treating of people, too." I say to her, but she shakes her head, not buying it. "Well, wouldn't it be safe if we do it the two thousand and twenty-two way, instead of a three thousand-splash-futuristic way?" She's not really asking, and I don't plan on answering that either. However, she is being rhetoric, so it's helping, too.

I cleared my throat, struggling for words to retort back, “You out of all people should know the danger of harming your alphas mate.
