“Go. You won’t make it if you stay.” Kieran’s throat burns and his legs tremble. “Thank you,” he murmurs and then without hesitation, he turns and he runs without looking back and behind him, the sound of growls and flesh tearing fills the air as Cassian and Riven shift into their wolf form, doing everything to keep any of them from going after Kieran. Kieran’s lungs burn, his stomach screams, and every step feels like fire tearing through his stitches, but he doesn’t stop not even for a second. He stumbles through trees, branches scratching at his arms, and blood soaking through his shirt but then his legs give out.

Kieran's POV I shrugged my coat on, but her small hand closed around my wrist. Her touch burned through the sleeve. "Please." That one word almost broke me. Gently I pulled free and opened the door. “Later.” The door slammed with a thick thud behind me as the night slapped my face cruelly with cold. I didn’t head east. I ran west into the forest. Branches whipped at my face and arms. I ran blind, ignoring the pain of the branches slapping against me. My lungs burned. The stitch in my side where Sirella had punched me throbbed painfully with every breath I took.

My feet touched the earth again, and I staggered forward, smoke trailing from my lips, My chest ached, blood still clinging to my wounds, but I could move. I had to move. I dropped to one knee, coughing, but spotted it just a few feet away, the broken end of a spear. I grabbed it with shaking fingers and walked towards him. The spear felt heavier with each step that I took, my fingers barely holding on as I dragged it beside me. I began to walk as fast as I could ,trying to distant myself from them but then they seem to continue following me ,so again I began to run as fast as I could I was so lucky that those people didn't used their bikes instead they were chasing me by their feet running like me. I was running and running ,but until before I fell flat on the ground ,I turn around to see that non of those people were following me anymore ,a sense of relief wash over my body but as I tried to get up a sting struck me on my knees and I saw blood on both of my knees.
