"I like your new glasses, by the way," I added, pointing to the stylish frames perched on his nose. He chuckled, adjusting the glasses as he sat down opposite me. "It's impressive that you noticed, so thanks," Klaus said, gesturing towards Klaus while wearing a playful smile. "Anyway, Clark's a bit grumpy today, so we'll take our leave first. See you later, guys," Klaus added, waving his hand as he began to tug at Clark's sleeve, urging him to leave.

It would be one hell of a brutal war to win. “He wouldn’t do it if he values his life as much as he values his wealth,” Stefano said with a small smile. Clavier hated that smile because it was something that he didn’t want to know. Stefano was a mysterious daemon. He didn’t say much of his plans. I offered him a stick and he took it before sitting beside me. "Brother. My name is Klaus." I was even more shocked. "I never knew he had a brother." He smiled and lit up his cigarette. "You don't know because I haven't been around much. I come back sometimes hoping to change his mind."

Recognition crashed into me like a storm. The man from the tunnel Klaus. He stepped closer, boots silent on the bloody tiles. “There you are.” My stomach dropped. “I’ve been looking for you.”

I can’t help the sense of wonder that disbands my thoughts whenever he’s mentioned. He is the only being I know who has successfully outsmarted Mr. Consulate. That is no small feat. What’s more, he continues to outsmart him, each and every day. At the very least, it speaks to his intelligence, no matter how loathsome and detestable he might be. Klaus glances at his watch, shifting his weight from foot to foot. “We’ll be leaving any minute now,” he murmurs, adjusting his cuffs back into place. “Do you have everything you need?”

They seemed curious about me but refrained from asking questions. As we walked back toward the house, Klaus broke the silence. “I’ve served Mr. Romanov for nearly ten years,” he said, as if anticipating my curiosity. “In that time, I’ve seen him grow into the man he is today—strong, determined, and deeply protective of those he loves.” Hearing this from Klaus affirmed what I already knew: Lukas carried more burdens than he ever let on. When we returned to the house, Lukas was waiting in the study. He looked up as I entered, his face lighting up with a smile that warmed me instantly. “How was your morning?”

Something about his laughter irritates me, “today will be the last day for your laughter.” Tanner’s POV We have waited for close to one hour. I was getting restless, but the reassuring calmness on the boss’s face gave me strength to continue waiting. She exchanged a wary glance with Zoe, who nodded imperceptibly, her eyes scanning the chaos for any sign of treachery. Without hesitation, Ulrich and Zoe charged towards the suspicious scent, their paws pounding the earth in unison. "You’re late," he said. "The traffic was bad," I replied, staying near the elevator. "And I had to wait for the doctor to give me an update."
