Megan's POV I couldn't believe I was holding a photo album in my hands. I didn’t understand why Ashton was giving me something like this, and my curiosity heightened. I became more excited to look at everything inside the old album. I slowly sat at the edge of the bed, leaned my back against the headboard, placed the memory book on my lap, and started scanning the old photo album.

Chelsea jostled awake. The book she had been reading dangled in her hand. It was called, The Mystifying Nine Months. Constance had given it to her. Some noise had woken her up. Chelsea thought it was her imagination. She leaned back on the pillow, wondering if she should try to go back to sleep or keep reading. Then she thought she heard grunting outside. “It might be the dogs.” Tippy, the fuzzy white house cat, was quietly snoozing at the foot of the bed. It didn’t seem like she had heard a thing.

We head back towards the house and he bumps into my leg repeatedly, trying to get me to turn around. "Stop trying to herd me. I'm not a sheep." I tell him firmly, tossing him a treat as I walk into the bathroom to brush my teeth before bed. I lay down, thinking about the book as I stare at my ceiling. Basil jumps on the bed, spinning a few times before he lays down next to me. I run my fingers through his fur absentmindedly, my brain refusing to stop spinning as I think about the first few pages of the book. It started out with the beginning stages of a war, the main character building an army of werewolves to defeat their arch nemesis.

Kate keeps examining the lone sheet of paper like a bingo player with a bingo card. “Think, Kate. Think,” she tells herself. “Try to recall everything you learned from that book.” The book she’s referring to is Codes, Ciphers, Steganography & Secret Messages, which she got from Booksale, a secondhand bookstore. She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath to calm her nerves. When she opens her eyes again, her line of sight falls on the photo of her and the Bali Girls. Then her eyes jump to the words in the letter:

Luna, my ever-curious cat, sat amidst a pile of scattered books, her green eyes wide with mischief. “Looks like someone’s been studying a little too hard,” I said, scooping her up. Luna purred contentedly, nuzzling against my cheek. As I straightened the books, a strange sense of peace settled over me. The nightmare still lingered, a dark stain on the edges of my mind. But Adrian’s presence, his unwavering support, had offered a lifeline.

Try sleeping on the concrete floor without a stitch of clothing or blanket. The only time Kaleb broke his own rules was when someone lost their use, like Jiao's father. Injured after an accidental fall during a practice, his age and the poorly set break left him limping and unable to walk the rope. Not one to waste resources, instead of feeding a lame cat, Kaleb sold him as a prize in a hunt. A fatal hunt, because no matter how agile and stealthy, a cat couldn't outrun a bullet. And in the end, her mother couldn't escape her grief.

Hailey and Kiro exchanged glances as if they knew what we were there for. "Of course, you're welcome here," Hailey spoke. She turned her back to us and started walking toward the bookshelf from a different section. "We have everything you need to find what you are looking for right here," she stated as she halted in front of a bookshelf. "Just let us know what we need to look through, and we will start," Kiro assured. He pointed to a specific shelf of books with his index finger. "Who is Lady Catheleia?" a sudden question fled my lips without permission from my brain. Everyone turned to look at me, and I felt myself shrinking under their gaze.

Occasionally she would open it and if she liked something in the book she would open, she would instantly buy it. She stopped at what she was doing, analyzing the book. She looked at the holes where she could clearly see section D. There was this woman who had just entered. She frowned at what the woman was up to. The woman seemed terrified and was looking around, making sure anyone was not looking at her. When she did not see anyone, she immediately put the books she had stolen into her bag. What she didn’t know was that Chel was just in the other section and the theft she was committing was seen.

She dropped it on the floor so that it could go back to its owner but to her surprise, the cat did not move. Kimberly bent down to know maybe it was hurt or something, but the cat looked very fine to her. “What is it? Why are you not moving?” Kimberly asked the cat lovingly. The cat turned to look at her, Kimberly could not help it anymore, she carried the cat and headed back into her room. “Your owner was the careless one after all.” Kimberly muttered to herself so she will not seem like the actual thief. ******************** Leon got to the place and he was shocked not to see anyone there again.

Emma hoped everything would go well. 'Woof woof!' Brownie barked excitedly, wiggling his tail, breaking her chain of thoughts and reminding everyone of his presence. Before the little dog could run off and explore, she quickly grabbed his leash and stopped his frenzied movements. Though Kevin had repeatedly stated that the house was hers as well, she was hesitant to accept it. She hadn't accepted him as her husband, so calling his house hers seemed irrational.
