Matt awoke with a jolt from the bed. His body was bathed in sweat and he felt uneasy. He darted his eyes around the dark room temperature to be sure that he was safe.
He managed to push himself up, feeling unsettled.
He was not usually this jumpy during the night, but something about the dream had unsettled him immensely.
He was afraid to close his eyes again for the fear of the dream he had. He would remain like that till dawn and at dawn, he would set out in search of the seer who could interpret dreams.
The dream he had was vivid and his mind raced through every detail of it. In the dream, he, The new Alpha of the Red Moon Pack was chained in a dungeon in the enemy's territory.
The dungeon was dark and a dim-lit candle was by a corner. He couldn't decipher where he was but the dream felt real. So real. The surprising thing was who he saw in the strange dream.
'Show yourself.'
Kimberley had appeared before him in the same black gown she had worn on the day she disappeared. Not only was he surprised. Her last words to him caused fear to run through his spine and that was when he woke up.
'This is not the end.'
________
Matt and two of the Pack warriors alighted from their horses. He had taken two of his most trusted guards because he didn't want anyone to know he had visited the seer in secret.
It would breed rumors and questions from the Pack chiefs who never minded their businesses. He trusted these two to keep their lips shut.
Arms crossed behind him, he waited for the guards to tie the horses before they crossed the river that led to her cave.
His mind was troubled and because of the dream, he couldn't wink before daybreak. He would only sleep after he got the meaning of the dream from her.
Why did he have a feeling that there was more to the dream? He inhaled the pinewood and moss-scented air.
Tall green trees filled up the thick forest and they made a pleasant noise as the wind blew through them. A gentle breeze brushed past him. Birds chirped while some flitted to and fro between branches of the trees.
He could see the cave from where he stood just before the brown-colored dirty water. Matt repulsed at the sight of it but he had no other choice if he wanted to find his answer today.
This was the only path to Yennefer's cave.
The morning sun rays shone down upon the crooked path piercing through the leaves. A small rabbit squeaked and ran fast into a hole close to a tree.
"Let's go Alpha." One of the hefty guards led the way.
He walked forward keeping his head low and letting out a sigh into the air. They stepped into the shallow water and trudged towards her cave.
As they approached, he saw the seer. She was a thirty-year-old woman with dirty blonde hair packed in a bun at the center, baby blue eyes that stared into his heart, and pale skin. In her left hand, she held a long staff with a pointed nose and watched them as they approached her.
A guard helped Matt out of the water onto the dry land as Yennefer walked towards them, her staff making a thud on the brown soil.
"Welcome to my humble abode, Alpha Matt." She smirked at him.
Rumor had it that she never smiled.
"Yes, Yennefer. I am here because…" He trailed off when he saw that her attention was fixed on the two guards who heralded him by each side.
Yennefer landed her gaze on him and tilted her head as if to give him a signal.
"Take twenty steps back." Matt ordered the guards.
They turned to regard each other and did his bidding immediately. When Matt confirmed that they were out of earshot, he faced Yennefer.
"Follow me." She said and turned to walk into the cave.
"Take off your shoes at the entrance." She ordered him.
Matt looked surprised that she told him such but when he darted his eyes to her feet, he realized that unlike him she had no footwear on. He nodded and bent to untie his boots. He removed them and walked into the cave. Matt studied the cave since it was his first time here.
On the wall to his right, there were images of some ugly-looking beasts and serpents. While on his right, were images of a unicorn and a phoenix spitting out large plumes of fire from its beak.
A red ruby quartz and a large glittering diamond with some crystal balls were there on a small stool. Close to it was burning incense.
On another shelf were some godlike structures with some ribbons attached to them.
Yennefer cleared her throat to get his attention.
Matt snapped out of his reverie and took the stool she offered him. She sat on a small black mat on the floor and stared at him intensely.
Matt felt uncomfortable with her stares.
"I am here because…"
"I know why you are here." She interrupted him.
Matt wasn't surprised. If the rumors were true, she must have even known that he was coming here. No wonder she had welcomed him.
"You had a strange dream where you saw Kimberley." She said.
Matt nodded. She picked up some incense sticks and fanned the incense hard.
"I knew you were coming and I had already consulted the gods beforehand. You will have your answer now."
She inhaled.
"Kimberly is your doom and with the key in her hands, you would not rule for too long." She delivered the answer.
Matt's lips parted in complete shock as he gripped the edge of the stool. He had gone pale immediately; those words left her mouth.
"What do I do?" His voice was barely a whisper.
"The only way to reverse that is to kill her and get the key or that dream will be your tragic end."
"You can do it, Kimberly. Run!" She urged herself as she increased her pace. Just when she thought that she was free from Matt's hold, he appeared again. She had been on the run for a year now since Matt had announced a huge sum of money to all the bounty hunters in Los Angeles. That was a sign to her - No matter where you run to, I will find you and if I don't, they will bring your head to me! The bounty hunters in turn had employed all ways to get her. She had almost been caught in Gretna when she had fallen asleep from exhaustion. However, she was quick to escape again. Now, she was on the run again. Would her life ever be easy? The tears rolled down her face as she kept on running. She couldn't control her powers and on the full moon, she hid herself in caves to prevent other werewolves who saw her from jeering at her powerlessness. It was worse when the werewolf hunters almost took her into captivity. It had been a narrow escape for her again. "You can stop running, K
Kimberely felt her ass plop on the hard floor. Damian had been surprised when she fell into his arms. He was stunned at the beauty he held. He had never seen such beauty. She was the epitome of perfection, as he held her body. Their eyes never left each other’s gaze. She had a pale face, and she looked absolutely perfect against him. Her lips were full and soft, her eyes were dark and captivating. Her hair was long, cascading around them both. His hands found their way to her waist, his fingers lightly grazing her skin. He could feel how soft her flesh was, like velvet. Her voice also mesmerized him until he deciphered the meaning behind them as he looked at the wolves before him. She was in danger. He dropped her on the floor and turned to them. Damian growled as he transformed into a wolf.Matt's men flinched. "Alpha, what do we do?" One of the wolves looked at him in fear. He had heard tales of Damian's ruthlessness and didn't want to be a part of it.The Alpha was known as a mo
"Killian, I need you to take her around while I explain to the Pack chiefs." Damian said to Killian his Beta."Would they understand?" Killian sighed."Why shouldn't they?" Damian growled."Because you did something you don't normally do. You have never brought in a stranger before." Killian pointed out."She was alone and…"Damian felt Kimberly's presence so he sealed his lips and swallowed the remaining words.Kimberly walked into the big living area. She tugged at the gown she wore. It was big for her but much better than the gown she wore last night."I'm ready." She said to him.______________The Alpha had told his Beta, Killian, to take her around the town while he had a meeting with his visitors and that was what they were doing.Suddenly the hairs on her back stood on alert. She felt something like she had felt in the woods. Kimberely turned around immediately. No one suspicious was there. But why was she having a feeling that someone was watching her? "Are you alright?" Kil
"How was your walk with her?" Alpha Damian asked Killian."It was okay, she bought one or two things she loved," Alpha Damian heaved a sigh when he heard what Killian said to him. Alpha Damian turned to look at Killian with the glass filled with red wine that he was holding."Why do you look like that?" Alpha Damian asked Killian when he noticed Killian looked worried."It's nothing serious, I think the girl is scared of someone or something, it's unclear to me though." Alpha Damian sat on the couch and gulped the wine."Have you settled the issue we have with the neighboring pack?" Killian was wondering why Alpha Damian snubbed the topic of Kimberly's fear."I was just talking about the stranger we have here, I cannot really explain it, but she appears to be very scared, as scared as you could ever imagine." Killian explains to Alpha Damian.Alpha Damian turned to look at him and immediately Killian kept his mouth shut. "This is my territory and no one has the power to threaten any
"Care to take a walk?" Killian opened the door and asked Kimberly. Kimberly was not expecting him especially when he didn't bother to knock before opening the door.Kimberly remembered how she felt the last time she took a walk with him, she felt bad but had to decline the request."I'm very tired I need to rest." Killian's facial expression changed, Kimberly noticed he was disappointed but there is nothing she can do about it. "I really need to get something from the market and it'll be boring going alone, you know I can't take the Alpha along with me even though he is the only friend I have here." Killian was trying to emotionally blackmail Kimberly to go take a walk with him.Kimberly felt bad because Killian and the Alpha have been nothing but nice to her and declining Killian's request might make her look ungrateful. Kimberly decided not to think too much about it and just accepted Killian's request to follow him to the market. She stood up from the bed and followed him.Killia
Killian signaled the spy closer to him to tell the others to return to base. Then he ran after Kimberly.“Why am I always so unlucky.” Kimberly cursed herself and squatted on the floor, she was too weak to continue running. She hit herself several times and sobbed.“Hitting yourself will change nothing you’re just going to hurt your skin.” Killian said to her while standing in front of her. Kimberly raised her head slowly and saw Killian.“What are you doing here?” Kimberly asked looking unhappy.“I’m here to take you back home.” “I have no home.” Kimberly replied almost immediately. A soft smile escaped Killian lips when he heard what Kimberly said.“Really?” Kimberly nodded her head.“Just leave me alone, after all you don’t believe me.” Killian realized from the way she was on the floor it’s obvious she’s too weak to continue running.“If you say so, I’ll go.” Kimberly looked around her and noticed there was no one there, she remembered Matt and his men. “You are so wicked, you’r
Fear gripped Kimberly the moment she sighted the knife very close to her neck.“If you move an inch I will not hesitate to slit your throat.” The man threatened. Kimberly was very scared but she tried not to let it show.“What do you want?” Kimberly asked him.“Keep your mouth shut and move.” Kimberly was too scared to raise her feet from the floor. “Do you know that I stay with Alpha Damian? He will not spare you if anything happens to me.” Kimberly tried to scare the man. But his character still felt indifferent meaning he doesn't care about what Alpha Damian will do to him. “And I know that he saved you from us.” The moment he said this Kimberly's eyes widened, she finally knew who sent him.“Alpha Matt sent you?” Kimberly asked the Assassin, this time her fear increased because she was sure Matt would not let her go. She closed her eyes and prayed Killian would come to save her, but there was no sign of Killian coming.“I will not entertain any more words from you so let's move.
Kimberly found herself crying the moment she saw it was Killian.“We want her, so just leave and we’ll not trouble you.” One of the masked men said to Killian. Killian smiled the moment he heard what the masked man said. “You’ll have to kill me before taking her away.” Killian said to the masked man. Matt was taken away by his Beta while the masked men walked closer to Killian. Killian drew out his sword from its cover and pointed it at tgen to start the fight. While he was fighting two masked men stayed near Kimberly to prevent her from escaping.Killian killed all the masked men until only those two were left. They were too scared to face him so they ran back to base. Killian put his sword back and bent down to apologize to Kimberly.“Don’t touch me!” Kimberly yelled at him angrily.“I never knew they would come after you.” Killian tried to convince her so that she’ll not be angry with him. Kimberly stood up and wiped her tears. “You promised you’ll not leave me there, but what
