I breathe out, my vision flickering slightly. Xavier pulls the knife back, breathing hard, eyes wild. “Let’s see you fight now,” he spits, raising it again. No. Not happening. The first one was unaware, but I can't let him stab me again. As he lunges, I catch his wrist and then twist hard. A sickening crack splits through the air and Xavier screams out in pain. The knife slips from his hand, clattering to the wet ground. I don’t hesitate. I drive my knee into his stomach, sending him collapsing forward.

His magic was useless. "What... what is wrong?" Scarlett stammered, fear clutching at her heart. "It's Alpha Xian's black magic," Kevin replied through gritted teeth, his face set in grim determination. "There's nothing physical to hit... it's just dark smoke everywhere..." Kevin turned around and warned Scarlett, "Miss Scarlett, just run to your tent and no matter what happens, don't step out" As Kevin spoke, the figure let out a hollow, echoing laugh that reverberated around them. With lightning speed, it lashed out, striking Kevin with a force that sent him flying back, crashing into the ground with a heavy thud. This time, the impact rendered him unconscious.

“It’s the Nothingness Dead Energy. You’re quite capable,” a strange laughter sounded. “Let’s see if you can handle this.” Countless stars flew out of the ball of blue gas, attacking Xanthakos relentlessly. Seeing the terrifying scene, Xanthakos pulled out a tower that expanded to block the endless stars. Despite several explosions, the tower he sacrificed cracked under the constant impact and finally exploded. In the next moment, countless stars shone brightly and headed straight for Xanthakos.

Aero soon landed a vicious blow, one powerful enough to send Xavier crashing into the floor. I watched with my breath caught in my throat as he quickly pounced on him and tried to keep him down, but Xavier fought so hard, with such strength that I didn't know he possessed, and continuously buried his claws in all parts of Aero's body. I screamed out loud in horror at the blood pouring down his body. Soon enough, with a tight grip on Xavier's neck, Aero snuffed the life right out of him with such a bloodthirsty look in his eyes. It was a horrifying thing to watch. The shack fell silent except for the sound of Aero's heavy breathing.

When she noticed that Xavier hadn't even drawn his dagger yet, she doubted that he would. In a move so fast that even she had trouble keeping track of it, he moved. His fist slammed into Kayden's stomach, knocking him out as a loud, painful scream escaped his lips. Without giving him a chance to recover, Xavier used his other hand and slashed across the back of Kayden's neck. Then, when Kaden began to fall to the ground from the force of Xavier's strike, Xavier brought his knee to his face. Kayden's head jerked back, blood gushing from what she guessed was his broken nose, and he fell backward to the ground, unconscious and motionless.

It wanted the Tenth Life to end before it even began. ​"No!" I screamed. I reached out, my hand glowing with a desperate, violet light. I didn't have a weapon, but I had the "Scythe" mark on my wrist. I pushed my palm toward the creature, letting the dark energy of the jump flow through me. ​A wave of shadow hit the Time-Eater, slowing its gears. It recoiled, the white light inside it flickering as my darkness collided with its "Time." ​"Julian! The core!" I pointed to the glowing gold needle embedded in the creature’s center—the same needle the Eraser had used to drink Julian’s memories.

Liam had told me not to let him take me to the ground, but as long as I held control, I was confident that I would be fine. I hit him in the face with all my force. After about three hits, he managed to get me off him. I took a couple steps back while he tried to balance himself. Liam had said it would go on until knockout. I had to be prepared to end it. Not waiting for him to stop swaying, I slammed my fist into his face again, and he fell backward. The crowd erupted into cheers, and Jax came out into the cage. He shook my hand.

I waved the thought off my mind, afterall I didn't care to know. "What do you want Xavier?" I turned to ask him, noticing he had dyed his black hair red, and surprisingly, he looked hot. "Just answer me." He licked his lower pink lips and I noticed a piercing on it. 'Fuck!' I cursed within as I also noticed the tattoos sneaking up his arms. Did this dude have a makeover or what? I was a sucker for men with tattoos and piercings. Damian planned to get one once he got accepted into Nevermore.

*Amber* The voice cuts through the air like a blade, authoritative and laced with a threatening edge. Zombie slowly turns us to face the newly arrived figure. I don’t recognize him at first, but the three stars tattooed on his neck mark him as one of The Stars. “Kress,” Zombie says the name with a weird fondness, as if he’s just encountered an old friend after a long separation, and he is not standing here ready to snap my neck. But the tension in the air tells a different story; Kress stands there, poised and ready, radiating danger.

he muttered under his breath as he delivered a punch with full alpha force. Xavier saw stars as the punch landed on his jaw, sending him flying across the courtyard as he landed on the floor and passed out.
