I could dream forever and never run out of nightmare material. I look to the clock and see that it is almost 5am. My alarm will go off soon. I really don’t want to get up. Do I have to? He was holding an empty aluminum soda can. Without breaking his dead, burning stare from my face, Leo’s large fingers slowly clenched. With a single, terrifying flex of his bare palm, his knuckles went completely white as he crushed the thick aluminum completely flat, the sharp metal screeching loudly as it deformed inside his fist. He didn't blink once, his jaw locking into a tight, rigid line that told me everything I needed to know about the storm waiting for me in the dark.

Kronos asked. “ What are you planning?” His brother asked with a quizzical expression. “ Just trust me,” Kronos replied. His brother said nothing; he just conjured two balls of green fire in the palms of his hands and hurled them at the slope. The mountain rumbled and shook, the fire working fast to turn the snow into rushing water. Kronos heard multiple cries of shock rise in the air from the battlefield. Kronos raised a hand in the air, palm facing upward. If there are any of our allies still alive down there, then I’m sorry. Kronos conjured a burst of white lightning into the sky then directed it to the slope. In the blink of an eye, the white lightning bolt slammed into the slope.

Good thing my girlfriend has my back. I tapped into the fake profile. Its settings showed "visible for the last six months only". But Imogen hadn't touched Twitter in seven years. Her final post was still our wedding photo from back then. It looked like someone was impersonating her and pulling off some sort of con. I assumed the farce had finally ended, but as I stood in the luxury boutique listening to the manager's report on last quarter's new arrivals, those same familiar leather soles echoed behind me once more.
