Crossing the line

Crossing the line

“Croissants. From the place that pretends they’re from Paris.” “Bless you,” I muttered, taking one. Lila perched on the arm of the couch, crossing one leg over the other. “So… I woke up to your face all over my feed again. It’s giving ‘star-crossed scandal sequel.’” I groaned. “Please don’t start.” She grinned. “Relax. I’m not judging. I’m just saying — the man looked like a walking heartbreak out there. You could feel the tension through the photos.”

Crossing Lines

And Elliot was ornamental at best. So I cut the cord. I ripped Harrington Global from his soft, manicured hands and made sure the world watched. I didn’t hide behind shell companies. I signed the papers myself. Nathan Cross Acquires Harrington Global. Harrington Legacy Ends in Ruin. Cross Dominates the Market. The press had a field day. I let them. I wanted Elliot to feel it. The humiliation. The loss. The irreversible fall. But that wasn’t enough. I wanted him to understand.

Crossed Lines

Damon crossed the floor, running a critical eye over every detail; the lighting, the projection angles, the placement of the CrossTech insignia. Everything was under control. Just as he liked it. But somewhere, in the back of his mind, the thought remained. ShadowByte is out there. And when Damon Cross wanted something, it was only a matter of time.

I think this one was the best I’ve read in the series. I also saw the writer’s development improvements. I’m sad I finished it already but excited for the next ones to come :) good job author thanks for the amazing read and the laughs and tears this book brought ...🩷

I can’t choose a favorite anymore. It’s just too good. This was the book I enjoyed most, 1) because I relate a lot to the FL (character wise) and 2) because it seemed like both leads were communicating a lot better than in the other books, which leads to less frustrating misunderstandings.

CROSSED PATHS

CROSSED PATHS

She crossed one of her legs over the other. "It's time for her to know the true definition of her daughter. I'll make her see through me whether she likes it or not." I chuckled delightfully, positively imagining the supposed successful outcome of Sally's idea.

Out of Frame

Stroke by trembling stroke, he signed his name. Callum took the agreement away. "I'll handle the rest." Then he turned to Julian. "To be honest, you never deserved Stella's love." Julian did not argue anymore. He no longer went mad either. He only hesitated before saying, "In the future, please take care of her." After Callum agreed, Julian hardened his heart and turned to leave, though he kept looking back at me. He laughed at himself, eyes red. "If I'd taken photos of you back then, maybe I'd be able to see you often now. Unfortunately..."

Zeroed Out

Zeroed Out

The crib was empty, and everything was gone. Even our wedding portrait had been taken down. The room held nothing of mine except the faint trace of my scent still lingering on the pillow. Every sign that I had ever existed in this house had been erased. I had been desperate enough to wipe away every last trace, to leave him with nothing to hold onto. Jasper slid down the side of the bed and crumpled onto the floor, clutching the pillow to his chest. His shoulders shook violently, and a single hot tear rolled down his face.

The LInes We Crossed

The LInes We Crossed

There was nothing special about room 3c–except that ‘He’ always locked the door behind him, even during lunch. I only noticed because I always passed by at exactly 12:04. Today, the door was open. He seemed to be in some kind of trance as he made his way past me into the busy hall way, clutching something under his jacket and checking over his shoulders, curiosity won over common sense and now here I was–in the woods–watching my crush of over a year dig a shallow hole in the frozen earth.
