James's Beta had brought it to the council’s attention when James began to pick a fight with almost every single warrior in their pack. The council brought James in for questioning. It took some time, but James finally confessed to what had happened. After that he went into a rage that ended up being the death of him. The one way to stop him had been for one of the council members to end his life in self-defense. "Was Cameron aware of the curse?" Charles asked Arden. "I do not believe so. A car crash ended his life. He had been drunk," the obvious did not need to be voiced. Charles and Arden knew that the only way a wolf died in a car crash was if their head was removed from their body.

I said, my voice breaking, “then I am happy to die. I don't want to live anymore.” Pain etched her features, lines of grief deepening as she held my gaze. “You are dying, but not right now.” Her words made no sense and left a bitter taste of confusion and anger. “What does that even mean?” My voice was a plea for answers, each question a stone in the pit of my stomach. “You can’t die like this, Nikita, or in any other way,” she explained softly. “Only the curse can kill you. I wish it were not this way. I wish your death wouldn’t be painful and long, but it will.”

I ask, still not looking. “Not well,” he says, voice strained. “But, yeah. I do. They were good kids.” Tears prick at my eyes. What sort of monsters would do such a thing? Come in here and murder innocent people? “Brynn,” I gasp. Brynn’s dorm is on this floor. Like almost everyone else, she must have been sleeping when the Silver Hunters attacked. Did she manage to get away? Is she even still alive? “I need to find Brynn,” I gasp.

And when Doctor Myoga brought them closer, Darrion was certain that that dog is Kuro, Kuroda’s pet dog. Kuro’s body was moving up and down slowly, clearly showing that the dog was not dead. The people from the Guild must’ve assumed the dog was dead because Kuroda refused to say anything due to his stress. But this was a relieving fact for Darrion to obtain, at least he knew now that his suspicion was true. Kuro was still alive. “Is he in a coma, doc?” Darrion asked. Doctor Myoga nodded. “Yes, he is. The critical hit was to the head that resulted in trauma. He hasn’t woken up at all due to the shock, and his heart rate is decreasing as days go by.”
