LIAM I shifted back to human and someone threw me pants. I pulled them on without thinking. My mind was already three levels down in a laboratory I didn't know existed in my own compound. Mara. Seven months pregnant. Chained to a table. Being experimented on. The rage that filled me was cold. Precise. The kind that didn't scream. It calculated. It planned. It killed efficiently. "Sub-level three," I said. "Where's the access?" Jax's voice crackled through the radio. "Main stairwell. Eastern corridor. But Alpha, you need to see this before you go down there."

I've tried all sorts of creams and herbs, but it just isn't working. After mixing the whole thing, I watch the whole thing come to a perfect blend. I grab my two test rats from their cages. What if they actually die before I could give them the cure but I brush the though away and get it to them anyway I watch as they rushed to take bites of it. The later footage of macaques showed the same result, and some of their arms were significantly stronger after regenerating, with one almost punching through the tempered glass. Sue sighed in relief—thank goodness Igor actually produced results, or she would be humiliated.

The burly deabru flew back like she Chuck Norrised him. The asphalt shifted beneath her feet and at a glance, it’d been broken down into dark gravel. Before she could think of what that meant, Voss started clapping. “And there we have one verified lab rat,” he said, tossing his cigarette. “Let’s see what else she can do.” With a wave of his hand, the woman rushed Dannie next.

LYRA'S POV “You can’t be serious,” Silas muttered, staring at the hidden door that had just slid open. “We have to see what’s in there,” Ronan said, his voice, his eyes glinting with determination. I stepped forward, my heart pounding as we entered. The room beyond was like a secret lab, cluttered and eerie. A large table sat in the center, covered in maps, papers, graphs, and diagrams scattered like someone had been frantically working.

SYDNEY As I entered the dimly lit laboratory, a knot formed in the pit of my stomach. The sharp scent of chemicals invaded my nostrils, and the cold, sterile air sent a chill down my spine. Sebastian, with his unkempt hair and intense gaze, stood at the center of the room, surrounded by his team of researchers. They clustered around a glass enclosure, their eyes fixated on its contents. Anxious anticipation mingled with dread as I approached, my curiosity warring with a growing sense of unease.

It fit perfectly on our body. Asher was busy scrolling through the pad in his hands as he watched different experiments with a macabre interest. Out of the three of us, he was the most excited about this whole place. Dr. Strahovsky, the lead researcher that over saw this place followed closely behind. She seemed happy and contented with all of us present. I understood how she felt. We were her new lab rats. “You are required to stay here for a few days to be under observation in case something comes up with your recuperation.” Dr. Strahovsky announced.

He stepped toward the center of the Pit. But before he could reach her, the overhead monitors flickered. The global livestream didn't cut to black; it changed. Instead of the Pit, it showed the interior of the Council’s main laboratory. It showed rows upon rows of "Vial-Beasts" being prepared. And it showed a video of Kael’s father and Mother Lunaris shaking hands over a map of the city’s water reservoirs. "What?" Lunaris shrieked, looking at the screens. "Who is doing this?"

she sighed, and I nodded. I walked out of our apartment and headed to the lab in Central City. I parked and entered the secured facility. There was a high level of alertness and security protocol in that facility, not only because we were working on top-secret research, but also because the three test subjects had arrived at the facility, and they were heavily guarded. I reviewed the files of the test subjects, all of whom were rogue werewolves. “Good morning,” I said to Iris and Evangel. “Great, you are here… We need to run the tests; it will take us about one hour or so to inject the serum and record the results.” Iris said, and I nodded.
