I would have laughed if I wasn't so terrified of her safety. "Oh, another witch. You seem awfully familiar to me. Now, where could I have seen you before?" Raven clucked like a mother hen, tapping a finger on her cheek and moved towards Annabelle, circling her like a predator observing its prey. Raven's face lighted up as she gasped in disbelief, "I know! You're Mary Andrews's granddaughter. Annabelle Aoki!"

Her hand flew up in a desperate attempt to wipe it away before Madam could see the evidence. Eyes sharp as an eagle’s despite her increasing age, Madam caught the movement. Her dim, grey eyes flicked from the paper that lady before her. The chair creaked ominous as the woman stood. Withered, gnarled fingers lay the quill aside. Annabelle took in a hitched breath. She knew what was coming. She did not attempt to back away as Madam made her approach. Her hostile eyes bore into her, igniting within her a flame of fear. She stood there a moment, speaking not a word.

Their aim that night was to get food for dinner, but Mira wanted to know who she had been sharing her home with a little better. “So, Anabelle, tell me more about yourself,” she said, keeping her face neutral. “So far, all I know about you is that you're from Spooky Hollow, you are the only survivor of an attack on your pack, and you hate witches, including me. With good reason, by the way. What else is there to you?” Rolling her eyes, Anabelle tossed her hair over her shoulder. “Well, my name is Anabelle. As you already know, ” she added, taking note of the way Mira's eyes had rolled into the back of her head.

His feet hurt a little from the impact, but there was no time to waste. He placed his phone on a rock and took off his upper attire. He then ran towards the sea and on reaching the seashore, he saw Annabelle (in her siren form) seated on a protruding large rock with a veiled lady standing behind her. She's quite tall and her golden gown embroidered with green thread, fluttered with the wind. Annabelle's hands were tied behind her back and there was a neck shackle on her neck. Her hair had been cut short; it was now above her neck. Her mouth was taped and there were several injuries on her skin. Even her tail was bleeding.

We hugged each other like people that went missing for years. “This is our new home now.” I said, as I showed them around. Mira stared at me intensely, I knew she was about to ask something. “Ma'am,” she mumbled. “Mira relax,” I snapped, placing my hands on her shoulders. “I'm your Anabelle, the one that everyone thought has died. After I came back from death, two months later I came to this pack to observe what was going on. And that was when I identified Raven's brutal leadership.”

She nodded, but they both knew she didn’t have a choice. In the end, he had to help her dress. She was just too shaken up to manage on her own. Once he’d gotten her strapped into the passenger seat and started steering his Land Cruiser down the road, her shakes abated some, though her pallor remained a troubling gray. Halfway to the station, Ryan called to advise him that Annabelle was in custody. Even before he hung up, she peppered him with questions. “Is Annabelle okay?” “She’s fine.” “Does Ryan realize he needs to be careful? She has a broken leg.”

Her gaze lifted lazily, but the moment she saw Hazel’s expression, her brows knitted. “You look like you’ve seen a ghost,” Annabelle said softly, adjusting Alan’s blanket. Hazel shut the door behind her and leaned against it, folding her arms. “More like I just overheard one hell of a storm,” she muttered, pushing off and walking closer. “Anna, we need to talk… about Richard.” Annabelle’s lips pressed into a hard line. “I’m not interested.” Hazel sighed, perching on the edge of the bed. “Too bad, ‘cause you need to hear this. That man you keep cursing under your breath? He knew Abigail kidnapped you.”

"You're like family to us." Luna Queen Nina, who had accompanied them, smiled at the heartfelt reunion. "It's a joyous moment indeed," she said. "We're all so glad that you're safe and back with us." As they settled into the room, Zara and Kai eagerly listened to Annabelle's tale of her ordeal. She recounted how she had been captured by the evil queen's minions while she was exploring a remote area, and how she had managed to escape after days of being held captive. The strength and resilience she displayed during those trying times left Zara in awe.

"I'm glad you came." I stepped out of the car, as my eyes fixed on her. "Tell me what you know about Selene's attack." Anabelle took a deep breath before speaking. "It was Ryker. He's trying to take over the pack, and Selene was in his way." My eyes narrowed. "What does Ryker have to do with you?" Anabelle's eyes dropped, and for a moment, I thought I saw a glimmer of fear. "I...I've been working with him. But I didn't know he was going to attack Selene."

He was dying in my arms, his blood was soaking my hands. "Why, Lily?" he asked in the most heartbreaking voice before his body went still. I wept bitterly. The pain was unbearable. I couldn't let Gerrard die. I grabbed my phone and dialed Sir Bruno. I didn’t care that he told me to deal with Thaddeus directly. He picked up on the third ring. "Annabelle, my sweet little spy," he greeted, his voice was sickeningly cheerful. "What are you planning tonight?" I demanded.
