"I promise that at least one of them will catch your eye!" Lydia eagerly raised her hand to assure him. Adrian switched on the phone and began watching the video. A young man and three young beauties appeared on the screen, and Adrian was taken aback when he laid eyes on the women. Upon closer inspection, he exclaimed, "Wow, they're all beautiful! One is cute and sexy, another is gentle and demure, and the third is just smoking hot. Three distinctively beautiful women all in a small group. Bloody hell! Do beautiful women like flocking together like birds or something? That guy is such a lucky stud."

Isla and Rigo let out a synchronized squeal, loud enough to make Luke flinch from the other side of the room. I could feel my ears burning, my face fully red. I wanted to melt into the couch cushions, disappear between the slices of pizza and throw pillows. "I just woke up one day," Adrian continued, unfazed by the noise, "and thought to myself—this girl whose eyebrows creased when she couldn't solve a math problem makes my heart go wild." I groaned under my breath, burying half my face in my hands. "She used to be a crybaby," he added, glancing sideways at me. "Still is."

Adriana shrieked and squealed excitedly, hoping that the excitement in her voice was enough and made her words believable. "You are really lucky to get me yunno, I am the best man any lady would wish for" Xavier bragged. "You wish" Adriana replied him with a playful scoff. "I think you are the lucky ones, you are so fortunate to be able to get someone as beautiful and elegant as me, do you know how many men actually want me but then I chose you" Adriana replied him, getting out of the car. They both linked hands. "You chose me? Why? Because I was too charming for you not to? Adriana, you seem to not know that I am the dreamlady of all girls here" Xavier continued their earlier discussion.

Adrian announces, all flair and swagger, “my divine goddess of gluten. Tell me you saved me a cheese danish or I’ll start a revolution out there with the Upper East Side PTA moms.” I laugh.Real, sudden. Like exhaling after holding my breath too long. Adrian always knows how to anchor me. “There’s one left,” I say. “But you will have to duel for it.” “I’d let you win,” he declares. “But only because I love you. Mostly.” Then, finally, Adrian turns to Damien. His tone cools, but only slightly. “Mr. Von Adler,” he says. “Didn’t expect to find you among carbs.” Damien’s jaw shifts. “Nor did I expect to be.”

Tall, dark red stilettos. She’s wearing a sating dress that clings onto her body perfectly, complemented by the dazzling jewelry around her neck and wrists. Her hair, her smile, her eyes, she looks incredible. I soon realise that she is not the woman I met last night. Something has changed, and her aura has shifted into something dangerous. Tristan’s body is still turned to me, but his eyes are fixed on Bella, with his lips slightly parted in awe. Her scent fills the room. “Miss Ward, please have a seat.”

Adrian winked at me. "And more than any other demon has given us. Just look at our kingdom after the night of the gala." My blush spread to the rest of my face and neck. Everybody hung on Adrian's lips. Adrian wasn't a man of many words, but when he spoke, he demanded attention from everybody. You just couldn't help but fall silent when he spoke. Even his brothers stared at him wide-eyed and silent. "Gabrielle has fought the mucus monster, defeating it in under a minute. She was the only one to even help. What if that was a real girl, shouting for help? What if that was your partner, your daughter?" He asked the crowd.

“You sound like a preacher. Don’t tell me this mystery woman of yours has already changed you.” Adrian gave him a steady look, unreadable. Inside, though, his chest stirred again at the thought of Leona. She was nothing like the girls Xavier played around with. She was real. She carried scars, strength, and fire. She wasn’t someone he could use and leave behind. He didn’t want to. “Let’s just say not every woman deserves to be treated like they’re disposable,” Adrian said finally, his tone calm but firm. Xavier raised his brows, leaning back in mock shock. “Wow. Look at you, Mr. Noble. Whoever she is, she must be something else.”

The message is still on the screen. Don’t trust Adrian.
