Wesley posted a new photo. I tapped on it. It was a picture of us at the carnival, kissing under the string lights, his hand cupping my face and his other arm wrapped around my waist. The caption read: "I love you with my whole heart, Bowie" My breath caught. My heart swelled so big I thought it might crack my ribs. I stared at the post for a long time, reading the caption over and over, letting the words sink into my bones. I replied in the comments: "I love you more, Chen"

I felt my heart fill with love as I looked at Mavis' resolute profile. Richard watched us with a relieved look, tears glistening in his eyes. Nearby, Tyler giggled, full of innocent joy. The gentle mountain breeze brushed past us, carrying the scent of earth. In the distance, the mountains stood tall, shrouded in mist.
