Calla's POV I couldn’t walk anymore. I’d stopped being able to walk somewhere back along the ridge when my legs gave out and dropped me into the dirt. All I could do now was to crawl. I had to get there, whatever it takes. Hand over hand. Knee after knee. One pull forward, then another, dragging my own body across the cold stone like something already half-dead. The Valley of Kings opened up ahead of me, gray and silent and waiting, and I told myself I only had to reach the bottom. Just the bottom. Just a little further.

POV: Lila (primary), Saela (bone-lit cadence), Maximus (the held line), Kehra (returning rhythm), Elora (voice unwrapped), Vathil (the hush after arrival) Thread: carried once more without being tied. - Lila It wasn’t dawn that arrived. It was a consequence. The sky wore yesterday’s breath like a shawl too long draped over shoulders that haven’t stopped shivering. My foot landed on pulsating moss as I stepped from my cot. Once. Then steadied.

DECLAN - My muscles burned with exhaustion, but urgency propelled me forward. I focused on the crunch of gravel and the bite of the night air, anything to keep my thoughts from spiraling. I was ready to mark her. I was so ready to be marked again. But the exhaustion was heavy. I needed a good shower and more sleep before that could happen. It needed to be special, not whatever could happen now. When we reached the front steps, I shoved the door open with what little strength I had left. Light flooded the hallway, stinging my eyes. Figures blurred in the brightness until I blinked hard and forced them into focus.

The truth hangs there between us. Heavy. Uncomfortable. “You’ve got no one to be angry at but yourself.” I turn away again. This time it feels final. My feet start moving. The distance grows with every step. And I don’t look back. Behind me, Cassandra’s scream rips through the darkness of the meadow while I keep walking and leave her voice fading behind me.

They look back, glimmers of hope and relief casting across their faces as they gather themselves and return to their feet before looking around in amazement. Elijah struggles to get up, falling to the ground as he watches me in awe while I belt out the remaining capacity within my lungs, sending the remnants of the once-unstoppable army of unthreatening Nightcrawlers into turmoil as they roll around in desperation on the floor - crawling for a non-existent escape before taking their last share of air. Teetering precariously close to the edge of exhaustion, I limp my way through the fallen masses and begin cutting down the lingering creatures holding onto life like a farmer in harvest season

My voice dropped. Cold. Final. “We don’t walk into their trap.” A pause. Then— “They walk into mine.”

I cursed , even if it wasn't that far , I was certain that I could never make it that far with two broken ankles , heck Jacob lived at fifteen minutes distance yet with the black spots popping in my eyes , I could hardly even stand straight much less walk that far - a branch snapped somewhere , and there was a fluttering sound like a bird flying away ,I didn't know what it was or who as a matter of fact , I couldn't careless , I didn't look back not one and limped all the way to the park entrance , ignoring the throbbing pain that nearly made me scream out loud - it was burning , I could hardly drag my body - three feet , two feet , one feet and I was out . Even when I was out on the street

Like they said, I wasn't raised right. I didn't care about showing kindness or respect to others just because they were older or younger than me. I believed in giving an eye for an eye! Before leaving, I took the gold necklace from Gigi and shattered it right before their eyes. "The things you people desire are nothing more than trash that's not even worthy of my eyes."

She determined as she keep crawling in. "Oh! I'm going to die.. "I'm going to die.." She sobbed as she can't move any longer. The pain was getting unbearable for her anymore. She could feel her strength failing her slowly. She had to keep moving. She keep telling herself but her strength failed her. She could feel her fingers and toes going numb second by seconds. Is this how she is going to die before being rescued. She didn't planned any of this to happened if not for.... "Cursed you richard." She curse in anger.
