The name stuck immediately, and the crowd burst into laughter. “How about Scarface for the one with the gash across his muzzle?” another voice suggested, and the crowd roared in approval. “And that one—let’s call him Limp! Look at the way he’s dragging his leg!” someone else added, prompting another wave of laughter. Each name was a jab, a further dehumanization of the werewolves, turning their suffering into a twisted joke. The werewolves didn’t respond to the taunts, their eyes fixed on the steak, hunger overriding any pride or anger they might have felt.
