Ruin me, Gently
“Don’t look at me like this.”
“Shh.” He gathered my hair back, holding it away from my face with one hand while his other hand rubbed soothing circles on my back.
When I was finally done, I sat back on my heels, utterly embarrassed.
He reached over and flushed the toilet, then helped me to my feet.
“I’m sorry,” I whispered.
“For what?”
“For ruining breakfast. For-” I gestured vaguely. “This.”
“You didn’t ruin anything.” Matt turned on the faucet and grabbed a washcloth, wetting it with cool water. “Here.” He pressed the cloth to my forehead, then gently wiped my face.
