Delta Lucas watches his mate, Karen, as she hugs and kisses their sons Leo, Arthur, and Nate and their twins, Jared and Gunner, who haven't been home long from their advanced fight training at another pack. As they then join the warriors that are standing out the front of the pack house, Delta Lucas walks up to his mate and places his hand on her cheek.

There’s a brisk chill in the air as winter is drawing to a close, me and twelve other young women and men sit around the training area looking at all the fighting equipment there was an array of training mats, boxing gloves and wooden swords of all sizes. Leo called his top men from the Moonlight Warriors to help us, while leaving the second in command to train the rest of the warriors. We all rode to the river and parked at the small shed where most of the warriors get their clothing after running with their wolf. “Alpha,” a warrior I didn’t know greeted. “Anything new?” Leo asked, and the warrior shook his head. “Still the same Alpha, and the perimeter is safe,” he answered, and Leo nodded. “Are you guys ready?” Leo asked, and everyone else gave their nod.
