The building's silhouettes suddenly became the dark night sky and the lights from their windows suddenly were twinkling. "Isn't that beautiful?" I asked when I saw a broken stoplight, the red light was blinking and the green and yellow once didn't seem to work. I thought it was aesthetically pleasing, under the gloom of the night, along the empty streets and silently passing cars. The slow blinking of that stop light seemed to harmonize with the quietness of the evening. I looked at Edgar and he was frowning at the stop light. "Pretty much could cause traffic, goodness, that should be fixed," he said and I rolled my eyes at him.

Not inspired by it. Related. The resemblance was unmistakable. Silver branches. Golden leaves. Roots glowing softly beneath crystal floors. A sibling. The realization hit all of us at once. Home suddenly felt much closer. Hope approached slowly. For once. Very suspicious. The tree shimmered gently as she neared. Its leaves rustling despite the still air. Then one golden leaf detached. Floating downward. Straight into Hope's hands. The Hall collectively pretended not to be emotional. Failed. Spectacularly.

She was writing the script. As the sound of the gunships faded into the distance, Leo reached out and touched a leaf of the olive tree. When his fingers met the silver-green surface, the leaf didn't turn violet. It didn't turn gold. It turned a vibrant, glowing white; a new kind of life that wasn't in the Legacy Bank.

Professor Raevers was silent. “Skip to the blue one first.” said Professor Morell. “It’s hard to get bell tree leaves, you know.” Seb touched the blue leaf. It gave a light bluish tint, but made no sound. He moved to the green one next. Upon touching it, the leaf gave out an emerald glow and made a sound so sweet it was like birds humming. “Ah,” they heard Pan sigh, “Silver always rings true.” Seb and Dorin both looked at the oracle head. There was a ghastly smile on their face.

Someone in the crowd threw a half-finished drink at Ella. The bottle hit her face and splashed her with an unknown yellow liquid. “This is disgusting! I can’t bear to listen to you anymore!” “Did Amber’s life not matter?” More and more bottles and cans came flying in. The reporters scattered and left the scene. Ella and Mary huddled together in a panic. They dodged the rain of objects and scrambled around in a sorry state, like rats fleeing across a street. I was quietly entertained as I watched the whole chaotic scene unfold from the other side of the screen.

Author's POV After Kehna and her father left, Ruby quickly went to look for the 'so-called shadow' Kehna saw. "Seriously?" She shouted furiously as she waited for an answer. "You really have to learn how to knock," the 'so-called shadow' said in a surprisingly calm tone "Look, I'm not here to joke around with you, just tell if you went out today"

While the men had been ridiculing him just seconds ago—as they watched the willow leaf hover in mid-air—they now found themselves feeling astonished beyond words as the leaf suddenly began emitting a golden light! Not only that, but it was also slowly increasing in size! Soon enough, an explosive sound was heard and for some ungodly reason, the willow leaf had turned into a gigantic leaf blade! “…W-what?!” shouted the eight people as they stared at the blade that was somehow emitting a murderous aura.

His finger caressed the leaf gently, and suddenly, a misty layer of moisture appeared in his eyes. Leaves, they're golden... He turned his face towards her, his voice trembling with pain and pleading, "Can you tell me more about how it looks outside? Can you tell me a little bit more? I want to know." 'Leaves are still green but quickly turn yellow because every autumn is like this.' She sighed, slowly writing on his hand, afraid that he couldn't sense it. Tom Hulce tightly held the dry leaf in his hand, carefully remembering what she had just written. His sight couldn't see, but his feelings became even more apparent.

He took long strides towards Ariande. "What was that for?"He yelled. "Why did you damage my car? Do you know how much it costs,you bitch?" He queried further. "Hold your tongue mister! Don't you dare yell at me or call me names. Take a good look at me. You splashed this muddy water on me and you intend to run away." She began to raise her voice. "Thank you stars that I am in a good mood or else..." She was interrupted. "Or else what?"

It fell on a nearby flower bed. “What?” Lex asked mockingly. He didn’t have time for this. “Over there,” he pointed to the flowers, “Look at what is happening.” Frustrated, Lex tried to filter his eyes into the dim-growing background. He saw what the old man saw. The yellow flowers whose name he knew not were covered in golden dots. They hovered above them. These yellow dots were fireflies perching on the flowers. It was a usual sight which Lex did not get why it sounded so unusual to the old man.
