The Don's Contract Bride
Legs crossed, hands steepled together and eyes on his wristwatch.
I almost screamed, but I used my book to cover my mouth, while quivering with panic.
Sweat slicks down my skin as I wasn't breathing.
"The book must be riveting," he whispered, and I shook, clearing my throat and adjusting my hoodie properly just so no part of my face would be revealed.
If I didn't answer him, he wouldn't leave me alone!
"Yes," I said in a different tone, husky, and I heard him smirk.
He suddenly takes the book from his hand and a cool breeze brushes past me. I dare not move my eyes, nor did my position change.
