I looked at Christopher. He couldn’t possibly have forgotten that he was the one who had stolen my ability to smile over the years. I didn’t respond. Instead, I turned to retreat to the kitchen. Suddenly, Christopher reached out and grabbed my arm. “Zoey, I’ve already sent Janine away,” he said softly, almost pleading with me. I looked at him coldly but held my tongue. I felt indifferent about where she had gone. It had nothing to do with me.

A person gave almost more than two of her hour to update a chapter and when in return nothing will given, feels so bad. I know this book is not free that's why readers are not interested in giving reviews . Leave it..... I will continue this book later when I feel to resume it until then take care , be healthy.

The reviews began arriving on Thursday. Patricia Osei had told me to read them but not to organize my understanding of the book around them because the book had been written for the women in the long middle and the women in the long middle were not the reviewers. The reviewers were the first room the book passed through on its way to the people it was for. The first review I read was from a literary publication that described the book as unflinching and specific and written with the particular authority of someone who had lived inside the thing she was describing rather than observing it from outside.
