The woman let out an annoyed groan. “Roman, what...?” “Go, Roxanne.” It was a low murmur. An order disguised as a suggestion. Roxanne looked at him in disbelief, but seeing the unchanging expression on his face, she sighed in annoyance and stood up. She turned to Aylin, giving her one last venomous smile. “Don't be long, sweetheart.” Her gaze slid disdainfully over her. “Your boss and I have things to do.” She left with a calculated sway of her hips, leaving behind the scent of her expensive perfume.

Roxanne knew it was not the time to be emotional, it was the time to leave, so with trembling hands, she searched for her bag and when she saw it, she picked it up. She was about to leave, only to see Annabelle standing beside the door. She was sobbing uncontrollably. "Please don't go." she cried. Tears slid out of Roxanne's eyes in full force and she embraced Annabelle in a hug. "I have to, I'm the traitor's daughter. You won't be safe if i'm around." Roxanne tried to swallow the lump in her throat but it was hard. "No, you are not." Lord Alex's voice cut Roxanne's next words off and she looked at the older man to see him smiling softly at them.

Roxana did not answer Hubert's question, but asked another question. "Right." Hubert replied casually. "You favor her!" Hubert's gaze darkened slightly, but soon he regained his usual gentle gaze, sat down beside Roxana and reassured her.
