Steam curled from the marble tub, fogging the mirrors and softening the edges of the room.
The scent of sandalwood drifted through the air, one of his, not mine.
At this point I didn't even have it in me to try and choose the scent.
I sat inside the tub, watching as Xavier poured in more soap to the hot water. His sleeves were rolled up, the veins in his forearms catching the light. For once, there was no command in his movements, no arrogance. Just silence. He ran his finger over my cheek, right where there was a scratch. The Rogues have left their mark. But then again, of course they did.
