I smiled at the little Korra one last time, though she wouldn’t see it and Fiona lifted her and walked away. But just as they reached the crowd, Korra turned her head slightly.. And my breath caught. Because at that moment… it felt like she was looking directly at me. As if she could see me. My heart stuttered violently. I lifted a hand in a small wave, knowing she couldn’t see it, yet unable to stop myself. And deep in my chest, a dangerous whisper rose… a thought I’d buried but never escaped: If my baby were still alive… she’d be exactly this girl’s age.

Mara stood watch, making sure no healer or guard approached. Each time Korra pulled her hand back, Kael whimpered, his wolf rattling the air with soft, broken growls. “He’s terrified you will disappear again,” Mara whispered. Korra swallowed hard, her chest burning from holding back tears. “I didn’t know…” she whispered. “I didn’t know the bond was already this strong…” Mara rested a comforting hand on her shoulder. “You didn’t reject him, Korra. You were scared.” Korra’s voice fractured. “Yes…”

“And only you can decide how it ends.” When I looked at him again, his eyes weren’t cruel. They were sad. “You can return to him, to your world, your love. Pretend the bond is gone. But sooner or later, this fracture will reach you again. The worlds are splitting, Kora. You are the bridge—or the blade.” The words sank into me like molten metal. I didn’t know what answer to give. So I did what I always did—I reached for the fire. It came easily, swirling around me in golden ribbons. For a heartbeat, I saw the same light in Aaron’s eyes, a mirror of my own power.

“I kind of figured when you all but swooned back at the academy.” “Okay,” I swallow, feeling awkward, before glancing back down at my food. Taking a bite of the beans I let it warm my tongue a little before chewing. “If you're aware then why am I still here?” “What do you mean?” “I mean, I remember everything you told me yesterday and I think I have an idea of where that conversation was heading to. Hannah stirs beside her, groaning softly. “What is it?” Cora asks quietly. I don’t soften the truth. “Rogues,” I say. “Near Frostbite. Enough that I don’t like it.” Hannah sits up instantly. “So we’re leaving.” “Yes.” Cora nods once. No hesitation. No fear. Just acceptance. I watch her for a second longer than necessary, taking in how naturally she carries herself now.......strong, grounded, no trace of the girl who used to shrink into herself. This is my girl.

I answered without looking him, I focus my attention to lady Charlotte whom her smile widened after hearing my answer. “Yay! I can't wait for tomorrow, surely Izach will like you too, Cora! Remi should join too, I will ask him.” She hovered toward me and leaned herself, “I will sleep now, don't leave okay, daddy?” She tilted her head to face him and extend her hand for pinky promise, Alpha Dexion accepted it without hesitation. “I promise, so sleep now.” He smile. “You too, Cora. I like your smell, it put me at ease and gave me a very nice dream! Please stay here too, okay?” She also asked me to seal a pinky promise, we both giggled and do it.

I got up on my feet and dusted my dress, Let’s go be a boy. Author's note: Ava got grounded, fat-shamed, trauma-dumped, ignored, and STILL managed to steal chicken and Wi-Fi in the same chapter 😭🍗💻. She asked, her anger almost seeping out from her tone. “Nothing,” that wasn't even a lie. “I'm just amuses me how you thought you can get Killain without doing anything. As soon as the rogues sighted me, they cowered in fear. “How dare you attack my woman? Or think of even attacking her?” I asked as I glared at them. They moved backward to avoid my terror. But it was already too late. I unleashed the golden whip on them; with one strike, I snapped off their heads. I walked towards Korra, who covered her eyes in fear. “It's fine; they are gone now,” I said to her, and she hugged me with tears. “Why did you leave me? I thought you were gone.” She said amidst tears.
