But then it was Daniel who answered. That night Daniel was meeting with a client who was scheduled to meet Ziyan today. Because he was annoyed, Daniel didn't want to explain what he was doing that night. Blood in my mouth. “Talk!” I shouted. “He said I should ask you about Morocco. I should ask you what you did before I saved you. What did you do?” Adrian coughed. Sat up. Spit blood onto the pavement. “I didn’t do anything, Daniel.” “Bullshit!” “I was the one who it got done to.” “And I’m supposed to believe that?” He leaned back against the tire of his car. Chest heaving. “You think I was the villain in Morocco? I was just twenty-four. My First deployment. My team leader was Nate Hale.”

Daniel leaned back in his chair. “Predictable,” he said softly. The man sitting across from him asked, “You’re sure it’s him?” Daniel smiled faintly. “I watched that man steal my future in front of hundreds of people.” He closed the laptop. “I would recognize his shadow.” “And the woman?” Daniel poured himself a drink. “Elena?” “Yes.” Daniel looked at the glass for a moment before answering. “She was never the problem.” “Then what is?” Daniel took a slow sip. “Adrian Volkov.”

“I saw your girl. I was told her lover brought her here, and I knew immediately it had to be you.” Adrian’s eyes narrowed slightly. “Why?” Daniel let out a short laugh. “Because it’s you. I know how obsessed you are with Vivian.” Adrian stilled. “And let me just say,” Daniel said, amused now. “Rushing someone to the hospital over a splash of warm water?” He shook his head. “You haven’t changed at all.” Adrian’s jaw tightened. “It wasn’t…” “Relax,” Daniel cut in, clearly entertained. “She’s fine. Completely fine.”

We made our way into the house and the great scent of lavender hit my nostrils. “Magic boy where are you?” Raiden yelled, suddenly a handsome young man appeared In front of us, he looked my age. “Raiden.” He immediately hugged Raiden tightly. His eyes suddenly landed on me. “You must be Davina Adams, it’s great meeting you.” He extended his arm to shake me, I shook him and suddenly felt weird, he smiled. “Davina, meet Gaven Dimitri, Gaven, this is my beautiful mate,” Raiden said, Gaven, smiled.
