Fox Village High School was huge. I wouldn't expect anything less with the size of this community. Levi drove us to school in his Nissan Pathfinder, even though we told him we didn't mind taking the school bus. We went straight to the guidance counselor's office to get our schedules. It was the same schedule we had back home except for Driver Ed. Instead of Driver's Ed, we had different career paths. Trevor had business accounting, Libby had childcare, and I had culinary. It was a class all of us were interested in. Levi gave us a quick tour around the academy.

“Yeah, but he is always not in the class.” Levi chuckled this time before messing my hair. “Silly, he is just in the field since he is part of the varsity. But he could not go wrong in class. He’s smart.” My brows furrowed. “How did you know?” Levi shrug his shoulder. “His name is always on the university portal, ranking third in the over-all seniors in journalism.” I widen my eyes at Levi but he is just shrugging his shoulders. “It’s obvious that you are not always visiting our portal for a University update. Levi quickly took over her thoughts again, however, as she arrived at the pond and dropped to the thick grass beside it. Levi was the only other person she had ever brought to ‘her’ pond which she had fancifully dubbed Avalon after reading The Lady of the Lake in school. She could see him sitting there, water dripping from his black curls onto his tan chest after they had jumped in to escape the heat. She loved the way the normal wariness left his bright blue eyes after they had spent some time at the pond. Seeing Levi happy and almost carefree made Dani’s heart sing with love for him.
