“I’m supposed to leave my home,” Fatima said flatly, “for you?”
“Listen, Fatima,” Leslie said, stepping closer. “I’m actually a very nice person.”
“I see,” Fatima replied. “And yet you’re carrying my husband’s child.”
“That’s not my fault,” Leslie said quickly. “And I don’t want us fighting. We should get along.”
She sounded sincere, which somehow made it worse.
Fatima scoffed and called out for Mrs. Wilson. The woman hurried in immediately.
