I glance at Levi briefly, noticing the way his hands hover near the laptop, the way his posture is tight, and I can’t decide if it’s anger or frustration or concern that he’s hiding behind his calm mask.
“I think his name should be Ray,” I say finally, my voice low but firm. “He should have a name that feels strong, simple, like he deserves everything.”
Greta smiles, gently pressing her hand to my shoulder. Levi doesn’t comment immediately. He leans back slightly, his eyes narrowing—not in disapproval, not exactly—but in that unreadable way he has. Watching me, assessing me. I feel the weight of his attention, and I stiffen instinctively.
