he says, nodding his head. “Please call me Kate,” I say, taking a sip of the orange juice. He says nothing, just walks away. I look to Troy and Jake as they glance at each other before turning to me. “What?” I ask. "The only person who will call you Kate is Troy. To the rest of the pack, you are Luna. It is seen as disrespectful to call the Luna by her name.” Jake explains. “But I am not a Luna, not yet anyway,” I say. Troy stops messing with the pile of papers and looks at me.

We all shuffled off the stage to the seats that we left empty for us with our families and friends. "Usually, we would have a pack run right about now to welcome our new members, but I also need to present to you your new Luna." Whispers started fluttering through the crowd like a wave. "I accept the role as your Luna, Tyler." A girl stood up at the back of the crowd and made her way down the aisle. She had bleached blonde hair, tanned skin and brown eyes. She had the body of a supermodel and her clothes left little to the imagination.

She closed her eyes and tried to sleep. ___________ "W-who's there?" Lexi asked the moment she opened her eyes, she was in an unfamiliar room. Everywhere was dark and a shadow strolled past her. "I'm sorry My Lady, I was trying to light the candles," A soft and timid girl's voice says. "Oh...." "By the way, I'm Leah," "Nice to meet you, Leah," Lexi said as she was thought to talk politely. "I'm-" "Alexandra Bernard, Lexi for short. I know. And I'm your maid," Leah said. She lit the candles and pushed a tray of food to Lexi.

I can tell she was having a battle with herself until she nods. "Alright, please let us know if you need anything," she says as she turns away. I waited until she was gone when I high-fived Mia. "Looks like we won't be having anyone around us today," I chuckle. "Come on, let's go." I take her hand and start walking. The Luna ceremony will be held in a week and to say I'm nervous is an understatement. I don't know what to expect. "Let's go to the school; maybe you will like it there," I say as we walk past a few pack members.

Additionally, I don't want you to mention the baby to any party guests. You still want to keep this a secret, right? I whispered back glumly, "Tell anyone that you knocked me up and I'll knock you out." Although he made fun of me, Levi didn't argue too much. I dropped out of high school even though I knew it was absurd in order to assist Levi in managing both Packs. I was now concerned that when others saw me, they would assume I was a pregnant 17-year-old dropout. I was Luna to two of the most powerful Packs in the US, so I knew that was foolish, but that's how I felt.

The sun had set. Alexis ‘Lexi’ Brown looked at her cellphone. She was only a few minutes away from her destination. Lexi had become a travel blogger and writer after her mother had won the state lottery six months ago. Lexi’s mother had split the eighty-four million dollar jackpot with her daughters.

I muttered, a bit annoyed at my Dad for the shitty mistake I might be stuck with. "Who said Luna training was hard? It's probably the simplest class around here, you just have to be taught decision making, politics, hosting and whatever fancy stuff is included in Luna duties.” Politics? And she said it wasn’t hard! I mentally scoffed. Then I realised I haven’t introduced myself to her yet. "By the way, I’m Alexia. You can call me Lexi for short. What classes are you taking?" I asked, feeling more relaxed around her.

With hesitation, Lexi walked closer to Azrael who was sitting in front of her mirror. She was just staring at herself without blinking. “Azrael?” Lexi started The Luna did not seem to hear her because she was not responding. Not even sparing a glance from the mirror, nor letting out a soft hum of response. Lexi was scared that maybe she would cross the line. She felt like walking on thin ice. But the urge of talking to her and making her feel better was stronger than being afraid of her outburst. It was a risk she thought that would be worth it.

“Wren did say that the amount of wolfsbane in your body was lethal.” My baby almost died. Just thinking about it made me so fucking angry. I was ready to tear the world apart. “That’s weird.” Emma mumbled. “Not for you.” Drake smiled. “You are the True Luna. You can do what most wolves can’t.” Emma looked up at him and gave him a small smile. Jealousy burned inside of me. She shouldn’t be smiling at him. But what pissed me off even more was the way he was looking at her.
