The Kingdom of Light

The Kingdom of Light

“There’s always light in the darkness, just as there is darkness in the light.” I watched as he swallowed before he reached out his hand towards me. I looked down at it, seeing this tiny little thing in it, something that shone in the lights coming from all around us. “A gift,” he answered, his voice low again. “If you would accept it.” It was a stone, a completely black stone, with a shiny surface that made it look like it contained stars.

Because I Once Saw the Light

Because I Once Saw the Light

It hurt so badly that I broke out in cold sweat and pulled myself into a fetal position, shivering hard under my blankets. I thought of getting something to drink and got up, carelessly making my way downstairs to the kitchen. The lights in the living room weren't turned on. However, I caught sight of a dark figure sitting on the couch in the darkness. It was Leonard. He sat on the couch without moving a muscle. He was holding a cigarette between his fingers, the faint glow flickering in the dark. I didn't dare to make a sound and thought of retreating as quietly as possible. "Since you're already up, you might as well come over."

The Day She Stopped Waiting

The Day She Stopped Waiting

Run! The light was real. God. Not imagination. Fair. Not hope. Reasonable. Real light. God. Tiny. Fair. Weak. Reasonable honestly. But real. God. And right now— it was the most beautiful thing Lily had ever seen. Fair. Because light meant exit. Reasonable. Exit meant home. God. Home meant Mama. Fair. And Dada. Reasonable honestly. Then another thunderclap shook the cave. God. BOOM. Fair.

10 chapters in and I hope it’s second chance book. I love a good “leaving my shitty husband for a better man” plot but sometimes I love a good “I need to get my wife back” plot as well. Sometimes I want to read about how a relationship was pulled back from the brink and I feel this is goi to be it.

The Light Stayed Briefly

The Light Stayed Briefly

Harold finally caved to their relentless curiosity, "Okay, okay, no more questions. We're off to Lunaris Inn later for some stargazing." Out of nowhere, Selena piped up, "Lunaris Inn, that's the spot for lovers—pricey and oh-so-romantic. It's open just once a month, and our Alpha snagged the grandest suite. They say it's a glass palace that glows wild and beautiful in the moonlight... Talk about a couple goals for our alpha and his mate." My polite grin was on the verge of cracking. I was in the dark about such intimate plans, yet Selena was in the know before me.

Second Light

Second Light

Eric believed her without a doubt, and the next second, he took out a lighter and tossed it onto my pile of stuff. The flames roared to life in an instant. "Yvonne has a point, if you're going to leave, then leave everything behind!" As the fire devoured each item, my heart crumbled into pieces. 'Eric, our decade of love is now just ashes,' I thought. I climbed into the car by myself, gazing at the house I had called home for so many years as it slowly disappeared from view. I quickly pulled out my phone and dialed a number. "Mr. Lloyd, I'd like to work for your company."

MY FIRST LOVE

MY FIRST LOVE

**The Light Within** The sky was ink-black by the time Lillian and Nicholas made it back to their car, the lighthouse standing tall behind them, its beam sweeping across the dark ocean. They had spent hours at the top, watching the sun set and the stars blink into existence one by one, lost in the beauty of the moment and the weightlessness of knowing that their journey was only just beginning.

Rejected By The Alpha, Cursed By The Moon Goddess

Rejected By The Alpha, Cursed By The Moon Goddess

The spell was getting close to its target. When the thread's light began to die slowly I knew I had to leave. Not before giving Lyra a gift for her initiation ceremony. “We'll know it's hit its target when the lights start dying down from its source,” I said. Almost immediately, the light began to dim slowly. “You know what this means right?” she said, looking at me from the thin thread in my hand. “I do,” I said Her eyes told me what I needed to know “But I'll be back before your initiation ceremony, thank you for all you've done”

Light & Darkness: Book 3

Light & Darkness: Book 3

- the teacher asked before moving back to the story of Greek mythology. I hid my face in my hands because I could feel the malicious eyes of some of the classmates on me. I really wanted to focus on the lesson, but this boy was messing with my head, even though I didn't really know him. I had no idea what was happening to me. - Christina...- I heard Luna's whisper suddenly.- Are you all right?- she asked with a clear concern in her voice.

Alpha Danger and His Abominable Mate

******* Luna I was in a dark space, I tried finding a way out of it but I kept tripping because of obstacles that I couldn’t see. This was what I endured for a very long time until light suddenly beamed into where I was standing and it seemed a woman was in front of the light.
