So I sat there for a moment with the book in my hand but I was staring at the door. Ben was laying on his back facing the ceiling and I looked back at the book so I could mark the page where I had finished it. But something weird was happening with my eyes. When I looked down at the book in the darkened room, I could still see the words on the page. I pulled the book away from my eyes and I blinked a couple of times before I brought the book back up and I could still see the writing on the pages.

Then, without warning, the lights flickered and went out, plunging us into darkness. I gasped, startled. “Stay close,” Travis murmured, his hand finding mine in the blackness. His touch sent a jolt through me, igniting something I thought had died. I picked up the book I was reading earlier to try focusing on that rather than on him but it was quite hard to not ogle at his well-sculpted muscles. He got on his side of the bed and lay under the duvet before purposely switching off the lights I was using to read my novel. How rude! I let out a sigh of annoyance as the room got engulfed in darkness. I couldn’t help but feel annoyed but I knew I couldn't turn the light back on as that would result in another round of problems tonight. He is just a mean man cause It wasn't like there weren’t days that he'd left the light on cause he was working and I slept without complaining and my reading wasn't even harming him in any way or form.
