He didn't like it that there was another watching out for Minerva. “I don't like this dragon,” Vincent murmured. Minerva would have laughed if they were not in a situation like this. The dragon tilted its head as if he heard what Vincent had said. Then it moved his attention back to Minerva.

He tried to call on his dragon form but it wouldn’t come due to his injuries. “I have to help him.” Rosalie cried as She wiggled out of Dominic’s grasp. He quickly grabbed the baby as Rosalie wobbled a small distance. She closed her eyes and shifted. The pain filing the anger she had towards Charles as his dragon form roared. Ever dragon in the area quivered with it. The power behind the purple dragon was unexpected. Even Charles was thinking twice. He backed away from Drezic as it approached. ‘Desiree sweetheart. I muttered. As the news spread throughout the dragon clan, whispers and murmurs filled the air. Some were in awe of Drogo's unexpected allegiance to Freya, while others expressed doubt and skepticism. Questions swirled in my mind, and I knew I needed to confront Drogo and seek answers. Even the book seemed to tremble on the page. The dark-winged creatures bowed. The dragon bowed to Roosevelt.

“One day you’ll realize you made a mistake. But by then, someone else will have taken your place.” I forced a tight smile. “Then I hope she enjoys it.” She shut the door with a little too much force. That night, the apartment felt still and heavier than usual. I sat on Lily’s bed with her favorite book in hand, reading aloud. She had curled herself into a ball under her blanket, her hair sticking up in different directions. “This dragon,” I read, pointing to the page, “wasn’t like the other dragons. He didn’t roar. He didn’t breathe fire. But he listened. And that made him special.”
