I hid my head behind Blade for fear of breaking it due to the force of the wind hitting my body. "Don't be afraid and let the wind brushes your skin and embrace you." My eyebrows furrowed because of what Blade said. "Sometimes, when no one is there for you, the wind will always be there to comfort you. So don't avoid it and hide." I could clearly hear what Blade said even when the breeze is strong. I slowly jerked my head away from behind him and opened my eyes. I saw a river on the side of the road, its water is so calm and reassuring to look at.

The wind rose at her back as she walked, not pushing, not shoving, just… accompanying. Carrying, somewhere ahead of her, the faint, quiet scent of storm and moon and a runt who had finally turned around.

Couldn't it wait till the morning? I found a corner of a building to shelter myself. I sneaked in like a cat and curdled up. Luckily that I did. The intensity of the wind was rapidly increasing.

His voice sounded… far. Like he was speaking from underwater. My feet moved forward on their own, slow, steady, pulled by something gentle and irresistible. The breeze brushed my hair back. The grass seemed to part. The meadow felt like it was opening its arms. “Nyra,” the wind whispered right against my ear, and I had the sudden, aching urge to follow. To see. To know. * Afrah always liked the feel of the wind in her hair. It made her feel lighter, as though she didn't have any care in the world. There were times when she imagined a powerful gust of wind blowing through the earth and lifting her off her feet, into the oblivion which lay just beyond her reach.

My lips curved as I felt the rhythmic pounding of the waves and the salty air moving gently over my skin through the stary night. Suddenly I liked everything. Even the burn and bitterness of the wind. Was it the wind of change?

It almost felt like a warning against the searing pain I was about to face. And yet, I couldn't find a single part of me that was hesitant. I should have been stunned by my willingness to stride forward so confidently. But here I was, standing at the start of the burning path. I looked at it for a moment and then lifted my left foot, stepping onto the hot coals and jagged rocks. The sole of my foot burned with a fierce pain that made me inhale sharply, but I needed to continue. If I could pass these tests, I'd have a powerful ally and follower for a lifetime.

Just wind. Too quiet. Then— A sudden rush of air at my back. I spun, catching only the flicker of movement before it was gone. Another breeze whispered past me, like a breath on my neck. I swore under my breath, spinning around again. “You guys suck at this!” I called out, breathless. “This isn’t hide-and-seek. It’s psychological warfare!” A low laugh echoed through the trees. I kept moving, weaving through roots and rocks, trying not to trip. Every time I thought I’d gotten a moment of calm, something moved just beyond my sight. A shadow. A whisper of warmth. A shift in the wind.

And then I looked to my left, surprisingly there was a path leading to a place I wasn't exactly familiar with. I walked my way through the pathway, as I followed the direction of the wind hoping a miracle happens and I would get to find her. I'm coming Lisa!!!
