I cross to the fridge, finding a glass and some yogurt. There’s a plate of cookies on the side and I am unable to resist the temptation of picking up one and shoving it in my mouth, before pouring some yogurt in my glass. My eyes fall close as the cookie practically melts on my tongue, my goodness. I don’t think I’ve ever had anything so delicious. So I snatch off two more. I hoped Ms. Pat wouldn’t be upset to find them missing in the morning, though even if she did, no one would know I was the culprit.
