Lilith comes into view, a white dress that for humans would resemble a wedding dress, it becomes her. She glows light a goddess despite not yet taking that title, her hair a hall of bright yellow light, her skin a beaming light. Her eyes bright lilac, happiness dancing within them. She halts when she notices us, stopping seven steps up for a moments breath. She stare at us wide eyed before continuing, her beautiful face turning guarded. I hate that she feels the need to be guarded around us, that we as her parents have forced that upon her but our choices have brought her a hardship like no other so it could be explained as expected.

It fit perfectly and I liked it almost at once. Determined to uncover the truth, I eagerly flipped through the pages, wholly absorbed in my new discovery. For a book tucked so far away I expected lots of details but disappointment was an understatement. It gnawed at me as I scanned the first few pages. They were filled with the name ‘lilith,’ over and over, like a haunting chant echoing through the musty pages. I turned the pages with growing frustration, each leaf marred by the name– lilith, lilith, lilith.

Damien POV I watched Lilith disappear into the rain from my window, her silhouette growing smaller until the darkness swallowed her completely, and only then did I let myself collapse into the chair by my desk with my head in my hands. The scent of her perfume still clung to my clothes, my skin, the small room upstairs where we'd crossed every line I'd sworn never to cross again.

So, I slipped on Jaxon's shirt and went down to the basement. I willed myself to keep calm as I descended into the dimly lit chamber where the air was thick with the smell of iron and wolfsbane. Lilith was waiting. She sat cross-legged on the stone floor. Her long black hair was wild and her eyes were closed as if she was meditating. Her skin looked even paler under the flickering lights, her lips tinged blue. Still, she didn't look unfazed. The moment I stepped closer, her eyes snapped open.

Cold. She lifted her head. The shadows in the corner of the room looked… darker than before. Her skin prickled. Lilith pushed herself up slightly. She leaned forward. “…Hello?” she whispered. Her voice barely came out. She thought she imagined it. Maybe stress was finally breaking her. She lay back down and pulled her blanket to her chin. Her eyes drifted to the ceiling. Then— Tap Tap Tap Inside her room. Lilith’s body turned rigid. Her breath hitched. She didn’t move. She didn’t blink.

"Now it's my turn to have all the fun, Lilian." After saying this, Isabella turned to the thugs once more, her eyes sharp and glinting with cruel satisfaction. “Make it as painful as possible,” she ordered coldly. “I want to see that smug expression wiped off her face.” The thugs exchanged a silent glance, then nodded. Their footsteps echoed ominously in the room that now felt impossibly small as they approached Lily, who immediately began to struggle against the chains binding her to the chair. The cold metal rattled and clanged against the bolts rooted deep into the floor, but it was no use.

Enzo had to wonder who the hell had gotten to them before he had. “Excuse me.” All eyes around the table zeroed in on Lilith. It had been a solid hour of bullshit, and this was the first time she had said a word besides introductions. She smiled gently, and took a tiny sip of the water she’d preferred over wine. Enzo just noticed that she’d barely touched her food in favor of filling the pages of her notebook with careful notes, scrawled across the lines and filling up the margins. “You’re going to have to forgive me.” “What’s your name again?” Shelia asked almost sharply.

If she could get to the window— Another blast of flames erupted from the doorway. Lilith turned her back to it, curling around Lucien as the fire engulfed her. She felt it searing into her skin, burning through her clothes. The pain was white-hot, blinding, all-consuming. But she didn’t let go of the baby. She stumbled forward, half-blind, and crashed through the window. Glass shattered around her. For a moment, she was falling, and then she hit the ground hard enough to knock the air from her lungs.

When Elias’s flight finally landed that evening, Lilith was waiting for him in the penthouse, dressed in full Mistress regalia — a black leather corset that pushed her breasts up dramatically, thigh-high boots, and a riding crop gripped tightly in her gloved hand. The moment he walked through the door, she didn’t give him time to speak or even set down his suitcase. “Playroom. Now. Naked.” Elias took one look at the storm raging in her eyes and obeyed instantly. He stripped off every piece of clothing in the playroom and knelt perfectly in the center, head bowed, hands on his thighs. Lilith circled him slowly, the riding crop tapping rhythmically against her boot. “You sent me a photo today,

he asked quietly. "I hope so but we really don't know if they will be able to," I replied turning my head up to look up at the sky. It was a beautiful night out, the moon was full and the stars were scattered everywhere lighting up the night. The memory of Lilith lying on the floor after seeing her parents lifeless bodies was imprinted on my mind. We all knew she wanted to find out exactly who killed her parents and why after her mind opened for the mind link. I could see how vulnerable she was looking at everyone's shock from her memories. Even I was, but I knew not to let it show the others tried so hard to keep a neutral expression on their faces. The memories and emotions came to quick
