There were minnows swimming through the reeds. A few frogs were resting on lily pads floating across the still water. Cory smiled at the scene. There was a rustling sound behind her. The frogs all abandoned their lily pads and even the minnows hid underneath the reeds.

There was nothing more important than that. "B-But..." Olivia wanted to say something but saw Lily get up suddenly. "Hey, I've got it!" Lily exclaimed. Olivia did not know what Lily meant, but she noticed Lily had already gone to the foot of the wall. The few logs Lily had planted before still looked bare, but when she got closer, she found a few small green shoots. Although there were only a few, they were greenish, small, and cute. Lily squatted down and sniffed it closely. Then she carefully held it up and twirled the leaves with her fingers. It felt tender to the touch. The shoots broke by just slightly touching it, revealing the sap inside.

She then sat down and watch the flowerless lily pads floating above water as she listened to the depressing silence. Everything in this large garden holds no comfort... only cheerless solemn of sadness.
