"I’m Liam.” His voice is deep, soothing, like a smooth velvet blanket to lay on. The sound of it makes me want to burrow under him. “Umm. I’m Lily.” I say in my most shy voice. He grins at me, flashing those perfect white teeth, revealing a perfect set of concave dimples. Without mincing words, he’s just about the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen. “What did my friend tell you?” I ask, my eyes scanning the room for Christie and finding no sign of her. Leave it to her to put you in the most uncomfortable of situations.

"You collapsed, sweetheart. You've been unconscious for hours." Lilly tried to sit up, but her body felt heavy and uncooperative. Kenny and Axel both felt their hearts drop yes they had helper you fight off most of what ever made her collapse but not all of it. Lily couldn't sleep. Her throat hurt, and her head felt hot. She climbed out of bed and walked down the hallway toward the kitchen, hoping Rosa had left some water in the refrigerator. The house was dark except for a light coming from Miss Vivian's sitting room. The door was open just a crack. Lily heard Miss Vivian's voice. She was talking on the phone, laughing about something. "No, seriously, Karen, I didn't sign up for this," Miss Vivian said. Her voice sounded different. Sharper. Not the sweet voice she used around Daddy.

Every object flickered between sharp detail and digital decay. A child’s voice echoed from the stairwell. High, innocent, almost playful. “You came back.” Lily froze. The voice didn’t sound threatening. Just... disappointed. “You always left before the song ended.” Her pulse thundered. “Who are you?” she called out. The voice replied with soft, measured warmth. “I’m you. Just better.” Ryle moved forward instinctively, standing in front of Lily. “Show yourself.” No one appeared. But the lights in the room dimmed slightly, the shadows at the corners of the simulation growing deeper.

"And why is that?" She shifts her eyes to the left, the right, the front, and the back as she leans over. I did the same; we were both in the center as she whispered. "Because I can't sing." My eyes grew wide while she flashed a smile.

“I’ll join you on the rink.” Lily slaps me lightly on the hand. “Don’t be wicked, Era.” Her voice is cold, but I can hear the hint of a joke in it. Then she turns towards them and bows. “I’m Lily.” Her voice is low and seductive. “I’m Sierra’s best friend.” I scoff. This isn’t Lily’s voice. This girl is a troublemaker and can literally scream the whole place down, so why is she acting like she can’t even kill an ant?

A voice sounded. She turned. Then there stood the man she thought was hers. Danny. And his sister Hailey. And another girl. She looked familiar. Yes, Catherine! The brave girl. Her eyes rested on Danny. As if compelled, their faces lit up with a warm pure smile. "Lily…" Danny called. There was a glint in his eyes. One that spread through wrinkles and stretched forth to the corners. "Danny…" Lily called almost in whispers. "How have you been?" "I am that good huh…" Liam uttered jokingly. "Okay. You are allowed to speak to her for just a few minutes." He said to Danny.

I turned to leave, but her voice burst through my head, halting my steps. *Don’t even think about it* Lily growled, wiggling her hands off my hold and clutching her ears as she wailed. "Mummy,” she cried. My brows furrowed in confusion. Lily, can Mind link? I stared at her in horror, taking her up in my arms. “It’s okay, princess," I consoled. “Look at me, look at Mommy," I ushered. She nods, a tear slipping down from her eyes, which I hurriedly wiped away.
