The moment the connection opened, Alpha Dane instantly blocked her out. “Dane, please…” she whispered through the fading link, desperately trying to reconnect. It was clear he didn’t want to be disturbed, but Zora kept trying all the possible ways to get to him. Her heart sank. She looked for her phone and dialled his number. It rang—but he didn’t answer.

Zelda "Shut up," mom told me roughly, digging in the cabinet until she came back with a pair of scissors. "Don't fight this, Zelda. I don't want your blood all over my tiles." She started cutting the knots from my hair and I sobbed into my hands, feeling the weight of my hair falling down at my feet. Her voice grates on me and finding my strength again I raise my hands but Zelda already has a plan in action.
