Spare My Heart
I must record every vision, or I'll forget it.
I picked up my pen and added a sentence beneath it.
[The ability remains. But hopefully, I'll never need to use it again.]
After writing that, I closed the journal and locked it inside a drawer.
Outside the window, the moon looked round and bright.
It looked just like the moon on the night Daisy died.
This time, I didn't apologize.
I didn't owe anyone anything.
I switched off the lamp, lay down in bed, and closed my eyes.
Tomorrow would be a new day.
