I couldn’t bring myself to imagine how many times Madeline had walked those dark roads alone, through such bitter winters. How had she managed to endure it all? My mother-in-law seemed uninterested in continuing the conversation. She brought out a bowl of stew from the kitchen—cold and thin so as to lack any form of nutrition for a growing teenager. There was barely any meat as if it had deliberately been picked out. My stomach turned in disgust, especially since I had just noticed freshly fried chicken sitting on the dining table when I came in. “I want some fried chicken, Grandma,” I said, forcing myself to keep my tone calm.

No one dared question her. She worked nonstop. Lost track of time. Lisa even flew in from Boston to check on her. Since it was rare they got to hang out now, they went out for Korean food. “You? Choosing this place?” Lisa teased. “Since when do you do loud and crowded? I thought you only did quiet, overpriced spots.” Allison grinned and tapped her stomach. “I’ve been craving ginseng chicken soup all day. I was in meetings thinking about it. I swear I almost started drooling.”

“They recognize you.” “Not me,” Veyra said. “What I carry.” She glanced at the faint gold still lingering beneath her skin, where the Vein’s mark had burned her. The Choir’s song shifted — now words were forming, fragmented and distorted, but clear enough to grasp. The current remembers. The Soulbound stirs. The cycle breaks. The sound pressed against her skull until her knees almost buckled. She forced herself upright, her voice cutting through the rising resonance. “Where is she?”

Lisa came with his breakfast and served him. "Um, ma, can you fix me something else".He said. "Ok, what do you want me to prepare for you?". "Um".He turns to Ana. "What is the name of the soup I was fed yesterday?". "Chicken soup, the one Isadora prepared". Anastasia said. "Oh, is that what you want? I will fix it right away".Mrs.Lisa said and left for the kitchen to start cooking. "Hmm, I guess you are already addicted to the soup". Andrew tease.

Glancing at her colleagues who had already left work, she patted Lisa's hand lightly, "Give me a second. Let me grab some stuff and change. Then we'll go out and chat. You must be hungry. I'll treat you to something to eat." Lisa nodded. Lily quickly changed her clothes and called Alexander to tell him that a friend had come to meet her. Then the two of them headed for dinner. "What would you like to eat?" Lily asked while driving the car out of the parking lot. Lisa rolled her eyes around, trying to think of something, and replied, "Hmm, I want to try something I haven’t had in a while since I’ve been away for so long. How about burgers?” When Lisa said the word “burgers,” her eyes lit up.

I never thought I would be engaged and that too with Ezra but here we are on our date and enjoying food in a beautiful beach surrounded by trees and cool air flowing through us making me feel serene and happy. " I asked my chef to prepare your favorite food!" He informed me, opening the lid of mouth-watering hot lasagna. " Oh My god! I am going to stuff my tummy with all the yummy food." I joked, stuffing my mouth with a spoonful of the deliciousness and groaning at the taste of it. " Don't make noises like that, Babygirl. I am on the brink of losing it." Ezra's husky voice broke my food trance, making me look up at him to see his eyes darkened with desire and want making me clench my thighs

She fairly floated after Juliet who found them a table and smiled as she sat across from the too chipper, too bright woman. A waitress brought them water and glasses before taking their coffee orders, promising to be back for the breakfast order soon. Lisa didn’t need to look at the menu to know what she wanted. She wanted bacon, and lots of it, and eggs and toast and tomato and mushrooms and bacon. Juliet made small talk while they waited for their coffee and then after Lisa had taken her first, fortifying and decadent sip, she narrowed her gaze at the other woman and demanded an answer to her earlier question.

I smiled as I thought to myself, Nate isn't all that bad you know, his clause is just that he is a mafia boss, and when it comes to getting down and dealing with people who messed with him he goes all out. He does the dirty and unspeakable things you can not even want to imagine. Lisa called back to me, as I had lost focus. She told me to assist her in the cooking, I was also eager to Cook with her. Lisa makes lovely, tasty and nice meals. Lisa's food is out of this world and I want to learn cooking from her. I was more than pleased to join her in this morning's cooking, I watched her closely in every move she made, I was attentive to what she was saying and I asked her a ton of questions. Y

"I'll have a chicken breast, grilled. Plain and dry please. A cup of steamed broccoli with it." Lisa let out a painful sound as Sicily stuck her tongue out. At least things weren't too off with her friends. Kari was still cursing and playing momma and Sicily was still being innocent and overly sensitive. Good to know the rest of the world was still spinning as it should be. Kari ordered a salad and Lisa wrapped up the order with a cup of vegetable soup. The server rushed off like his ass was on fire and Lisa chuckled at the thought. "You really shouldn't scare the poor boy." Kari winked at her as she took the last piece of bread.

" Lisa muttered with dissatisfaction. she didn't hide her Hatred for the person that just , any way the person that brought her into this organization is Scarlett. So of course she doesn't have to care about that selfish man "Let's forget about Unhappy things and go home" Lisa shook out the unhappy things in her head and smiled cheerfully. Getting back to the house, Scarlett returned to the room to rest. while Lisa went into the kitchen to cook a whole feast. While she was arranging the table, she saw Scarlett come out from the bathroom while wiping her lips.
