I thought you only did quiet, overpriced spots.” Allison grinned and tapped her stomach. “I’ve been craving ginseng chicken soup all day. I was in meetings thinking about it. I swear I almost started drooling.”

Glancing at her colleagues who had already left work, she patted Lisa's hand lightly, "Give me a second. Let me grab some stuff and change. Then we'll go out and chat. You must be hungry. I'll treat you to something to eat." Lisa nodded. Lily quickly changed her clothes and called Alexander to tell him that a friend had come to meet her. Then the two of them headed for dinner. "What would you like to eat?" Lily asked while driving the car out of the parking lot. Lisa rolled her eyes around, trying to think of something, and replied, "Hmm, I want to try something I haven’t had in a while since I’ve been away for so long. How about burgers?” When Lisa said the word “burgers,” her eyes lit up.

I never thought I would be engaged and that too with Ezra but here we are on our date and enjoying food in a beautiful beach surrounded by trees and cool air flowing through us making me feel serene and happy. She fairly floated after Juliet who found them a table and smiled as she sat across from the too chipper, too bright woman. A waitress brought them water and glasses before taking their coffee orders, promising to be back for the breakfast order soon. Lisa didn’t need to look at the menu to know what she wanted. She wanted bacon, and lots of it, and eggs and toast and tomato and mushrooms and bacon. Juliet made small talk while they waited for their coffee and then after Lisa had taken her first, fortifying and decadent sip, she narrowed her gaze at the other woman and demanded an answer to her earlier question.

I smiled as I thought to myself, Nate isn't all that bad you know, his clause is just that he is a mafia boss, and when it comes to getting down and dealing with people who messed with him he goes all out. He does the dirty and unspeakable things you can not even want to imagine. Lisa called back to me, as I had lost focus. She told me to assist her in the cooking, I was also eager to Cook with her. At least things weren't too off with her friends. Kari was still cursing and playing momma and Sicily was still being innocent and overly sensitive. Good to know the rest of the world was still spinning as it should be. Kari ordered a salad and Lisa wrapped up the order with a cup of vegetable soup.
