I know all of Dr Ambrose's little grunts and noises. Well. Not all of them. I wish. "I went to my book club." Dr Ambrose nods. "Your naughty book club." Ha. "Yep. Shall I tell you about what we're reading?" See, he's not the only one who can toss out a challenge, but sadly he sidesteps mine. "No, I'd rather hear more about the club. Who else attends? Other students?" "Yep. It's mostly girls but there are a few guys too." "And you meet in...?"

Outside, Mitch gestures down the street. "There's a little place down the road I sometimes stop for coffee." Without giving her a chance to refuse, I take the bag of books from her. "Let me carry that for you." The 'little place', a small cafe, is mainly occupied by student types. They sit in groups, wearing bohemian clothes and cheap gothic jewellery, arguing loudly. It's not quarrelling, but debate of the kind you get from the types that think they know the secrets of the universe, or they can put the world to rights by talking about it.

Goldstein said. “That’s a good idea,” Rayvin agreed. “You know, Rayvin. You should come to the book club in town,” the older woman said. Rayvin tensed up, and she felt Mikael squeeze her hand. “I don’t think I’m a book club person,” Rayvin said. The mayor and his wife chuckled. “Neither am I,” she confessed. “They have been reading the same book for two years,” her husband said with a grin. “Yes, well, Gossip and sherry club just doesn’t have the same ring to it,” Mrs. Goldstein said, making them all chuckle.

This' where the meeting would be held. The small library at the wall is stocked with a few interesting books to use and pass some time. I pick up a book that attracts my attention, from a glimpse of it, I detect that it's a romance fantasy. The gold and red combination of the cover with the stylish golden fonts captivates me, the front has a young girl holding on her palms what looks like a magical spindle, with a glowing light around it. The title goes, "When you're alone." A subscript writes, "A supermodel story of the girl who single handedly achieves the most difficult goals."

Mia says fanning her face. Oh yeah, somehow in the past two weeks us girls have been getting together on Fridays to discuss our book of the week, kind of like a book club I suppose? Tonight we’re at Steph and Julian’s house while X and Julian are downstairs playing pool. “Fuck me that was such a hot chapter!” Alina squeals and then takes a big gulp from her glass of wine. “I’m telling you guys, you need to role-play that scene! Maybe this woman was simply calling to try and sell Mia something or to do one of those phone survey things. “How can I help you?” “Have you heard of ‘Little Black Book?’” Harley asked. “The new women’s magazine?” Mia asked, her heart jumping into her throat. “That’s the one,” Harley replied and it sounded like she had a smile on her face.

Just remember, you’re not alone.” She stepped out of the car, and it immediately enveloped me in the familiar scent of books and the aromatic smell of coffee. Julie led the way into the renovated book club. The space was transformed; it felt inviting and warm. While it kept the charm of the wooden interior, new elegant furnishings made it look vibrant. As I remember, the library section had expanded, with more seating arrangements, and the ambiance was comforting.

Beneath were flawless downward-turned lips she knew Sean satisfyingly feasted on now and then. A grim stare in her direction had Gianna turning her face in embarrassment. He caught her staring. Should she call it a miracle that Sean hadn't looked her way all day or gotten two meters close to her? Was it due to the effect of the slap or simply a bite of guilt? Whatever it was, she hoped it lasted a while longer. "We have a book club going on, I believe you must have heard about it." Gianna began. "The book donation thingy?"
