The Mafia King Dies Every Time He Kisses Me

The Mafia King Dies Every Time He Kisses Me

Instead… The crystal cradle responded with another heartbeat. Thump. A pause. Thump. Not mechanical. Not magical. Almost… Human. ⸻ The hooded stranger stepped between Anaya and the cradle. “Move away.” Their usually calm voice carried unmistakable urgency. The little girl obeyed without argument. “But why?” The stranger didn’t answer. Instead, they carefully touched the edge of the cradle. Nothing happened. No light. No heartbeat. The Sanctuary remained silent. The monk frowned. “It ignored you.” ⸻

Strangers

Strangers

I wonder if he felt it. "No big deal." I guess he didn't. I give him a meek smile before moving up the aisle. I want to wait for him, continue talking to him, when I realize I don't even know his name and he never asked mine. I'm such a daft cow. Bloody hell. Here I am thinking there's some beautiful connection to this stranger I met by happenstance on a plane, when in actuality, he was just being nice, effectively making the time fly by.

The Billionaire’s Regret: Too Late to Love

The Billionaire’s Regret: Too Late to Love

Nothing. He knocked again. Still nothing. Allen shifted his weight and knocked a third time. Footsteps approached. The door opened halfway. A little girl stood there clutching a stuffed rabbit. She stared up at him with wide curious eyes. Allen blinked. “Hi.” The girl studied him for a second. Then suddenly she spun around and shouted toward the apartment. “Mommy!” Her voice bounced loudly off the walls. “Come and see a stranger!” Allen rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.

The Day She Stopped Waiting

The Day She Stopped Waiting

The Heir of Ruin The stranger smiled. Then: "Hello, little sister." Silence. Complete silence. Nobody moved. Nobody breathed. Selene's face had gone completely pale. Not shocked. Not surprised. Terrified. God. No. Fair. Absolutely not. Reasonable honestly. Then Ava looked between them. Then: "Okay." Pause. Then: "I don't like that." Honestly? Fair. Very fair. Reasonable honestly. The stranger stepped forward. Slowly.

10 chapters in and I hope it’s second chance book. I love a good “leaving my shitty husband for a better man” plot but sometimes I love a good “I need to get my wife back” plot as well. Sometimes I want to read about how a relationship was pulled back from the brink and I feel this is goi to be it.

Alpha's Venom

Alpha's Venom

The house collapsed upon the boy, with his screams the last thing I heard. .......... "Liam!" I screamed, jerking from the bed. My heart thumped in an abnormally rapid rate, and I was sweating despite the cold evening breeze that had blown through the window. My nose stung, and the liquid against my cheek made me realize that I was crying. I wiped the tears again. "You are one hell of an interesting wolf." I glanced to my side to find the stranger from earlier sitting on a chair beside me and reading a book. I watched as his eyebrows would raise and lower at intervals, probably finding something interesting in the book.

The Stranger Who Stayed:When Fate Knocks Once

The Stranger Who Stayed:When Fate Knocks Once

The scarf was on the hook. And the stranger who had stayed was standing beside him in the kitchen in the October evening, cooking dinner in the warm ordinary extraordinary inhabited life that they had chosen and were choosing and would continue to choose, one attended day at a time. The door had been left open four years ago on a rainy night. Neither of them had closed it. They never would. End of Chapter One Hundred

CLAIMED IN THE DARK

CLAIMED IN THE DARK

The stranger’s voice came low and rough in his ear. “You’re safe with me now. Just breathe.” But Eli didn’t feel safe. The darkness pressed down on him like a living thing, thick and suffocating. His childhood terror roared back to life, freezing his muscles even as his mind screamed at him to fight. “No!” Eli gasped, pushing hard against the stranger’s chest. “Let me go! Cove! Cove, where are you?” The stranger’s arms tightened around him, dragging him backward through the chaos. Gunfire cracked through the black ballroom. People shouted and screamed. Tables overturned with loud crashes. Glass shattered somewhere nearby.

My Stepbrother, My Mate

My Stepbrother, My Mate

I asked, trying to distance myself from this mysterious stranger. He chuckled, “Your name is not the only thing I know about you, Henry. I’ve been watching you for a while now.” My heart raced as I realized that this encounter was far from coincidental. “Whoo are you?” I asked, my voice trembling with fear and curiosity. The stranger simply smiled, his warm gaze never leaving mine. Hickory, dickory dock, the mouse ran up the clock." I felt a chill run down my spine as he recited the nursery rhyme, his eyes gleaming with an unsettling intensity. The stranger’s cryptic words only added to the growing sense of unease that enveloped me.

A Night with Mr. Stranger

A Night with Mr. Stranger

Didn't know if I should be excited to see my daughter, or to be sad at the condition I met her. I crawled a slow step forward, crouching in front of her. “You’re safe now.” I blubbered, pulling her into a tight embrace. She flinched, tried to push me away, but I held on. Her tiny body trembled. Then she sobbed—a soft, soundless sob. I finally let her go gently. She was obviously scared of strangers, and wasn't comfortable with my actions. “She’s scared,” I whispered. Brownlow stepped forward. “We’re here to help you, love. Do you know where the people who kept you are?”
