A huge number of household staff were live-in, so the place did not feel deserted. Maddie knew that Kaden and Everly would be back today. Thinking their first stop was the estate, she instructed the kitchen to pull off a feast for lunch. Her side of the family and best friends came by as well. Since Everly was back, she wanted to spend a lovely get-together with everyone. After lunch, Maddie could sit down for a game of cards with family and friends. Hearing the sound of a car engine outside, Maddie got up and walked out while saying, “Everly’s back.”

She was just snapped out of her thoughts when Liam started to cough. "Theo." She called once again and looked him in the eyes. Theo diverted his look at her and slowly, he calmed down. He immediately let go of Liam and dropped him to the concrete floor. Maddie glared at him for a second before he checked on Liam who's losing consciousness. She tried to slap his face to keep him awake but to no avail. Maddie groaned in frustration and fished out her phone. Before she could dial the emergency hotline, Theo pulled him up and dragged him away from Liam.

While they were gazing at the screen, Maddie came into the living room, rubbing sleep off her eyes and yawning broadly. She pretended not to know the reason behind the clangor going on in the house. “Mom? Dad? mom Why are you screaming? I could barely sleep due to how loud your voice was! “I could hear your voice right from my bed! Maddie asked gazing at their faces, but no one gave her an answer. “What is going on? will someone tell me what is going on, please,? She said with a tone full of fear and concern. Matild swiveled around sharply, then she grabs hold of her hand and led her close to the television.

As they approached the door, Darren's hand trembled slightly as he turned the handle and entered the room. Lucy's eyes darted towards them, her expression a mix of anger and confusion. She sneered, her voice dripping with disdain, "What are you doing here, Maddie? Are you Darren's little minion now?" Maddie's heart sank at the hostility in Lucy's words, but she refused to let it deter her. She took a step closer, her voice steady but filled with compassion, "Lucy, I'm here because I care about you. We all do. Something isn't right, and we want to help you."
