I drop to my knees, grabbing my chest screaming at the top of my lungs! “Fuck, this shit hurts.” Liza falls to her feet, crying, then she pulls something out of her bag. “She hands it over to Leah and instructs her to give it to Maddy.” Son of a bitch, what the hell did Liza just do? What is that? Maddy grabs the item from Leah and, sure enough, “it’s a small photo album.”

With a womanly voice. "You're dead." I state. Holden holds me back, shaking his head, "my fighters are on their way. It's not our job to kill." I sigh and nod, but use my fighting skills, disarm the bitch that shot, and maybe killed my mate before restraining them on the floor. "Holden, check Lizzie! Now!" I shout. I watch with panic as Holden carefully picks Lizzie up and lays her down on the floor, checking her over. "She's alive.. Barely." He breathes.

"Are you sure, Liv? Involving the police... it might make things messy. Maybe you could talk to a lawyer first? Or try to settle it privately?" Olivia's eyes widened, disbelief cutting through her pain. "Settle it?" she echoed sharply. "Maddie, he's manipulating me. He's controlling my life, my finances—everything. This isn't something I can fix by talking." Her voice softened, breaking again. "I'm scared, Maddie. And I need help." Maddie's tone changed immediately, filled with regret. "I'm sorry. You're right. I didn't mean it like that." She paused. "If this is what you want, then I'm with you. I support you, bestie, no matter what."

Is Trevor okay? Finally, the car lurched to a stop in where I supposed was Maddie's house. Yes. Her house. She killed the engine and stepped out. Liv unbuckles, Brianna's fixing her makeup in the mirror muttering about how my bag was messing with the leather. Darcie placed it there actually. I took a deep breath. Group work, right? None of them are even stepping out, just busy adjusting their hair which feels awkward now. Then they all pose for a group picture, countlessly taking selfies.

He knew Vince wouldn't let the girl go by herself. When she got home, Lina turned on the living room light and Maddie was there, sitting on the sofa, with her cell phone in her hand. “Oh!” the two screamed together. Lina put her hand to her chest, as did Maddie. “What are you doing here?” Maddie finally asked. “I'm the one asking it! Sitting in the dark, here in the living room, instead of in your room! You look like a fucking ghost!” “The internet isn’t working well there... I 'm watching movies on my cell phone,” Maddie showed her device. “And you? Shouldn't you be in bed, giving it all to your hot Italian ‘boyfriend’?”

‘She doesn't want to talk about anything anyway. Raven pressed a mug of hot herbal tea into her hands and exchanged a glance of understanding with Omem, she saw. ‘Shall I come with you?’ Raven bit into a poppy seed bun with cheese and looked questioningly. Maddie nodded with relief. 'Yes please.' Raaf and Maddie were together in the local bus on their way to the town where Maddie's mother, Gonnie had lived since the divorce. Maddie's eyes stared into nowhere. ‘We could have taken a shorter route, too,’ Raven whispered in her ear.

"Try not to miss me." "Very funny," Maddie muttered under her breath. "I need to get dressed too." Liza popped the last of her cookie in her mouth and took her mug to the sink. "And Maddie?" "Yes?" Maddie looked up from the cookbook. "You make him explain to you what happened. And tell him we plan to fight him for the ranch." Maddie jumped up and gave her sister a tight hug. "I love you. Both of you." Sniffing, she pushed Liza away. "Now go get ready for your own big evening."

I turn and look for help, only to see Holden and Lizzie both fixing Shania with a dirty look as they storm over. Lizzie positions herself between Shania and I possessively and growls lowly. "If. I. Were. You. I'd. Get. Your. Dirty. Little. Hands. Off. My. Husband." Lizzie growls slowly; her eyes pitch black with anger and the presence of her wolf. Shania, for some reason isn't phased at all, "you aren't with both of em love. Stick to Holden. You so aren't good enough for the likes of Dean." She pops out a hip, and sticks her hand on it defiantly.
