My Jordan gave up after seeing the news. He had not woken up for a long time and when he did, that was what he saw first. Why would he live anymore? I replied, smiling. "It’s an anchor," he said, placing it firmly in my palm. "We don't need a signal to tell us where we belong. We don't need a mission to give us purpose. We are the purpose. And as long as we are here, in this house, on this land, that is the only mission that matters."

He knew very well that they both were meant to be together and that just meant that even if they were separated, they would still end up together cause that's what their destiny said. “I love you.” She said as she hugged him tighter, her eyes closed and a smile fixed on her face. She didn't want to leave him not now, never. “I love you more.” He said, placing his chin in the crook of her neck. She was his happiness and the one he loved the most. He realized that making someone his reason to live on was not right cause now his reason for living was going to help others cause that's what he liked the most and that's what gave him happiness.

"But you are right. I have more living to do. I do not know how to do it without you but I will try." I took a shaky breath. Let it out slowly. "I am going to live. For both of you. I am going to live so fiercely that when I finally join you I will have so many stories to tell." For the first time since they died, I felt something besides grief. A tiny spark of purpose. Small but real.
