The air warps. And still, I don’t say it. Because if I say it, I don’t know who’s listening. Or who I’ll wake. Loki leans in and kisses me. Slow and cruel and careful. Then he pulls back. His voice is honey and threat. “Everything you touch turns to ice, Victoria. The only question left is who survives the freeze.” And then he’s gone.

I keep glancing at the clock. Even though we are super busy, the time is somehow dragging. Normally I love doing the flowers and being here, but today I'm not feeling it. I wonder if Loka has something set up for Valentine's Day for us or if it's just a normal date. We haven't really been dating more than twenty-four hours, so I'm guessing he doesn't have anything planned. It doesn't matter though. This is going to be the best Valentine's Day ever just getting to be with him.

He smiled, which is starting to irritate me because time is running. I exasperatedly said, "Tell me!" He chuckled before nodding, then put on a poker face, "Remember 3rd grade?" 3rd grade? "3rd grade?" He nodded before saying with this look in his face, "February 14, that valentine's day." Shockingly, I did remember what happened on that day.
