CHILDREN OF GODS

CHILDREN OF GODS

Hades. Just the name had been bouncing around the insides of his skull all day. He had barely been able to concentrate on any schoolwork. How was he, James, supposed to stand up against a force such as that, a god with immense power and creatures at his disposal? The answers would not formulate in his mind and James felt incredibly vulnerable. Even his dreams weren’t safe.

The god who hates me

The god who hates me

It was his first time conceiving such an idea. He walked to his chamber and sat in silence to observe his loom. It was no ordinary loom, it was made from various elements including bones of titans. He watched it weave and unweave destinies as it spun blue love threads, gold birth and death threads and red threads for other gods. His throne was carved from onyx and veined with pulsating veins of crystalized time. Axel sits here in silence, surrounded by floating parchments and living quills that write the ever-changing stories of the universe. Waterfalls of liquid light descend from invisible heights, forming quiet pools where memories and possible futures float like leaves on still water.

I love this. A unique premise and colourful characters. Both Axel and Ariel being betrayed really impacts me because of how close their stories are but they don't know it yet. It's so beauty and the Beast but so much more. I love it! Please update quickly!!

The Alpha King's Hated Mate

The Alpha King's Hated Mate

He couldn’t rise again. “Tell me,” I whispered, more to myself than to Matteo, “you don’t think it’s him.” Matteo didn’t answer immediately. His fingers curled into fists at his sides. The tension in his jaw was enough. “We don’t know,” he finally muttered. “And we’re not jumping to conclusions.” But the fear in his eyes betrayed him. Loki, the Blood King. The one whose thirst had drowned villages in blood. The one who defied death so many times, our ancestors had to turn to forbidden rites to bury him.

Currently at chapter 56 and loving it! The FL is definitely fierce & capable but needs to hide her abilities and no doubt there's more to her mother's story. Can't wait for her wolf to show up. The ML is still a dumbass but his wolf Darius....he's amazing!! Curious how it all works out.

there were a few confusing points, it never goes into the relationship between Adriana and the MMC and what all they've been through together yet it continuously brings it up. it also seems as though he really loves her yet ditches her as soon as she pisses him off. the cut should have been deeper.

Mother, May I

Mother, May I

The struggle on Jacob’s face is awful. But Hermes just waits. Doesn’t push. And I love him more for it. I love you, Josefina, Hermes links. I love you, too, I send back. Finally—finally—Jacob steps forward and hugs him. It doesn’t last long, but it’s something. It’s a start. I smile and turn toward Alexander. “So… which gods came over to help us?” He kisses the tip of my nose, making me giggle, then turns with me still in his arms and points. “Loki and his whole chaotic crew. Anansi. Coyote. Raven. Maui. The Monkey King. And the Kupua.”

The Viking's Mate Hunt

The Viking's Mate Hunt

He was almost looking like he was wearing a corset. His face was slimmer and sharper, and his short beard was pitch black. His long black hair was brushed back away from his head, sleek and very much the opposite of how most men in this world keep their hair. The thought struck me: Loki, the Norse trickster god, was a vain creature! In this situation, it seemed almost funny. It seemed so misplaced and strange, like everything else here. “Now, let us get your thunder wolf forward! I’m dying to teach Thor a lesson he won’t forget!”

Design of Fate

Design of Fate

Loki, the God of Mischief, delighted in the chaos created when vampires, Dark Fae, and any species did whatever they wanted – fuck the consequences. Imeela leaned more into me when it was mentioned that the Gods believed that Loki was behind Andrei Moretti. It made sense the more that I thought about it. For someone who fed off chaos, it would be in their best interest that the vampires lived by their own rules. It was disgusting what passed for acceptable behavior since her coven was slaughtered. Feeding rooms, forced feedings, rape, starvation, slaves, abuse, killings, and destruction. It would be the perfect fucking environment for someone like him.

I love all of the books in the Fated universe. I am loving this sequel even more than I loved 'His Hunt For Redemption'. Jackson and Zeus are perfect for Imeela. I also love all of the twists and turns when it comes to dealing with the Precoza coven. I can't wait for Kalen's story next.

Frequently Asked Questions

Loki's influence feels less like a god orchestrating conflict and more like someone who can't help but poke the anthill with a stick just to see what happens. He's the ultimate catalyst, the character who exposes the fault lines that are already there between the Aesir, the Vanir, and everyone else. Think about the death of Baldr. That whole tragedy wasn't born from Loki having a grand plan to destroy Asgard; it started with a mischievous sense of fun, a refusal to go along with the collective grief, and that casual cruelty of revealing that one, small, overlooked thing—the mistletoe. The conflict that erupted from that was immense, but it came from the other gods' own pride, their assumptions of invulnerability, and their inability to conceive of someone not playing by the unwritten rules of their society. Loki didn't create the conflict from nothing; he just tugged on the single loose thread that unraveled the whole tapestry.

In a lot of modern retellings, especially in books like 'The Gospel of Loki' or even the Marvel version, this gets framed as rebellion or a thirst for chaos. The older stories feel different to me. There's a pettiness to it, a deeply personal resentment. He engineers the scenario where Thor has to dress as Freya to get his hammer back, which is hilarious, but it also humiliates Thor and twists a sacred marriage rite into a farce. That creates tension, sure, but the lasting conflict is the bruised egos and the lingering mistrust. His influence is insidious because it's so often interpersonal. He makes the other gods doubt each other, see the absurdity in their own rituals, and question their own stability. The real conflict he sows isn't always war; it's the slow, corrosive doubt that maybe their entire divine order is just a house of cards, and he's the gust of wind waiting to prove it.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that Loki's role feels uniquely modern in that sense. He's the deconstructionist before the term existed, and his influence on divine conflict is to constantly remind everyone that their power, their unity, and their destiny are narratives they've built for themselves—and he's got the editorial pen.
