She was feeling like living in the darkness for a very long time. Most people think that being lonely is about being single. Your lover left you. You had a heartbreak. So now you are lonely. Why is everything about a lover? A lover comes, and your life becomes heaven. A lover leaves, and your life goes to hell. No. There are a million things that can break you into helplessness, and a lover is just one of them. And why do you look around a person to know how lonely that person is? Why? How can you know?

Loneliness has wrapped its cold arms around me, encasing me in a shroud of desolation. No longer do the comforting smiles of friends and family warm my heart; their belief in my sanity seems to have eroded like the sands beneath a crashing wave. Cherry Desmond looked at the bandage in her hand, then glanced at the tall, slender figure growing distant in the dim, hazy light. The loneliness in her heart felt like a dark abyss, growing larger with each passing moment. The space, the emptiness inside her, made her feel like she could be sucked into that dark abyss at any time.
