I heaved a relieved sigh and stood up from my crouch, just as my uncle's men morphed into their different wolf forms. Four wolves, four deadly beasts. Alexander himself leaped down from the horse and morphed midair. Where a man had once stood, now a great black werewolf crouched, snarling, his teeth bared dangerously.

Then, the ground began to vibrate. A roar like a mechanical beast echoed off the alley walls. A matte-black Lamborghini—a limited-edition "Shadow-Runner" used only by High Alphas—screeched to a halt behind the BMW. "Whose beast is that?" Jason gasped, his eyes widening. Madison craned her neck, her greed palpable. In the Citadel, a car like that was a symbol of absolute power. The driver stepped out, ignored the BMW entirely, and walked straight to Logan.

It was the Titanium Leo-roar! Guardian Palace’s body turned stiff from the impact, and he was deafened momentarily with fresh blood dripping from his nose!

Only the strongest of the warriors receive this mark at the end of their training."

The thing was as big as a horse and heavily corded with muscle one could clearly see rippling through the beast’s beautiful silky fur. Almera casually rose to her feet as the wolf approached. "It’s okay, Pearl; it’s just a guardian warrior." "What’s a guardian warrior?" She was still backing toward the house. "He’s the head lycan, ruling alongside the elder." So this was a Lycan warrior. Oh, god. Timothy came to a stop before Almera, and the air around him shimmered. A moment later, a huge, gorgeous, dark haired man stood before them.

Then his expression became terrifyingly cold. “Xavier!” Xavier emerged through the smoke. “Milord!” “Seal every road leaving Hilton City.” “Yes!” “Find that vehicle.” “Immediately.” Lucas ran outside. The Lamborghini was still parked in the driveway. He jumped inside. Xavier entered another vehicle. “Milord, we have a problem.” “What?” “The van isn't registered.” “Then track the route.” “We're trying.” Lucas started the Lamborghini. His phone rang. Unknown number.

Angry shouts rose from the crowd of pack members gathered at the gates. Some were already trying to push past the guards, wild with fear and questions. “She’s dangerous!”
