A Mother’s War
She placed her face on the table and sobbed quietly, biting her lip so she wouldn't make any sound.
Rose hated injustice. In fact, from childhood, she had dreamed of becoming a lawyer and her parents had wanted the same for her, until she lost them both.
She had been hoping for justice, but instead, it had ended with a gun pointed at her head.
A waiter at the restaurant walked up to her. “Ma’am, what do you want to order?
“No, I’m fine,” she replied without looking, her face still on the table.
“Sorry, you can’t sleep here, it isn’t allowed. ”The waiter said, tapping Rose’s shoulder gently.
