A Dangerous Deal with Mr. Blackwood

A Dangerous Deal with Mr. Blackwood

But when she finally looked away, a soft, inaudible laugh escaped him. “What the hell, man? Did you just giggle?” Chadwick asked, eyeing him with disbelief. “Absolutely not! Why on earth would a grown man giggle?” Grayson retorted, giving Chadwick a glare that could cut. Liam erupted in laughter. “What’s so funny?” Grayson demanded, redirecting his attention to Liam. “Chill out, man. It wasn’t a big deal,” Liam said, struggling to hold back his laughter. “Okay, boys, I’ve had enough of this place. Can we go home now?” Naomi declared, looking expectantly at Grayson.

The Alpha's Rejected Omega

The Alpha's Rejected Omega

Lorien "Yes," Cassius said without thinking. The word echoed in the room like a slap—loud, sudden, final. For a heartbeat, I just stood there, staring at him. Then it hit me, the absurdity of it, the timing, the man. A laugh tore out of my throat. Sharp. Bitter. Hollow. Not the kind of laugh you shared with someone. The kind you used to hide a scream. The kind you made when something in you had long snapped.

Hi, I’m new here and I wanted to ask if the chapters are in correct order for this story? I think the chapters should be numbered because I feel like the story line is out of order. Is anyone else having this issue?

I really like the plot of this book! I’m not finished with it, but the plot gets confusing. There seems to be many plot holes or major time skips between some chapters. I’m not sure if the order of chapters may have gotten jumbled up, but it makes the read all the more confusing ...

Who's Laughing Now?

Who's Laughing Now?

The day before the high school reunion, the queen bee who'd bullied me for three years suddenly posted a video in the group chat. In the video, my 220-pound high school self was locked inside a bathroom, with a piece of paper stuck to the back of my uniform that read: [No Food for Pigs] The group chat instantly erupted. [Holy shit, she's coming to the reunion?] [Do you think the hotel chairs can hold her?] [After all these years, she can't possibly still be so fat she won't even fit through the door, right?] Naomi White, the queen bee who'd led the bullying back then, tagged me. [Old friend, everyone wants to see you. You have to come to the reunion this time.] Soon, someone started

I Laughed When My Wife Hugged Her Assistant

I Laughed When My Wife Hugged Her Assistant

In it, my team and I were all smiling, while my close friend raised his glass in a loud toast to our ever-improving future. Finally, I sent her a voice message. “Thank you for your blessing, Miss Quinton. We will focus on making good products.” After watching the video, Winona was furious. ‘Jared, let’s see how long you can stay so smug,’ she thought. Frustrated, she threw her phone. It landed at Corey’s feet just as he entered the room. He picked it up and handed it back to her. “What made you so upset, Winona?”

Alpha’s Blood Mate

Alpha’s Blood Mate

“I want to get back to the house to see her. Let’s move.” When we stepped inside, the first thing we heard was the sound of loud, boisterous laughing coming from the front room. Atlas looked over at me with a confused expression. “I warned you!” Elias yelled, still chuckling. “I told you this was one of the greatest nineties comedies.”

MARRIED TO AN ALPHA, CLAIMED BY THE LYCAN KING

MARRIED TO AN ALPHA, CLAIMED BY THE LYCAN KING

I laughed. It came out genuine, loud, the real kind that starts in the chest and can't be stopped once it starts, and I let it go completely, let it fill the entrance hall, and watched Hailey's expression move from smugness to confusion to something closer to irritation as the laugh went on longer than she had planned for. Then I stopped. My face went flat and cold between one breath and the next like a door closing like it hadn’t been me laughing a second ago, and I watched her register the change and watched something in her go uncertain.

A Friend's Joke Reveals Hubby's Secret Life

A Friend's Joke Reveals Hubby's Secret Life

Bradley Fry, my CEO husband, loves bringing his friends home for meals the most. He claims that this makes them feel like an actual family. As they drink in the feast I've whipped up for everyone, one of Bradley's friends comments smilingly, "I knew that you were a virtuous one, Emily! Now this is how the legitimate wife should act!" My expression doesn't falter as I ask in a half-joking manner, "Oh? Does Bradley have a spoiled and pampered mistress by his side, then?" His friends are stunned by my question. A trace of panic crosses their eyes simultaneously. But Bradley just wraps an arm around my shoulders with a smile. "Don't listen to their nonsense, Emily. Who else is worthy as my

Chaos Is My Crown

Chaos Is My Crown

Eleven minutes, and I still didn’t have an answer by the time I parked. I took the stairs instead of the elevator. I told myself it was because the elevator was slow at this hour. It wasn’t. I just needed the extra ninety seconds. When I reached the door to Room 14, I heard laughter before I saw it. Not careful laughter, not the brittle kind people do in hospital rooms to convince themselves everything’s fine. Real laughter, Dean’s high, delighted shriek of a laugh, the one I used to hear through a baby monitor and never once in person, and underneath it Loveth’s quieter giggle, and underneath that, unmistakable even after five years, Lex’s laugh.

Too Late To Want Me Back, Ex-Husband!

Too Late To Want Me Back, Ex-Husband!

And better, the room shifted, all attention drifting toward his hysterical display. I watched his now depressed family hover around him; I watched Linda desperately try to hush him, but Shawn kept laughing until I took the microphone from my father and cleared my throat. “Mr. Shawn Lindays…” I said, the amused smile never leaving my lips. “This is a reputable gathering. If you want to laugh like someone with no home training, I suggest you take it outside.” The laughter died instantly. I saw a flash of raw anger war with the shock in his eyes, but I had already spent enough of my night on him. I turned back to the crowd.

Taming Alpha Rhye

Taming Alpha Rhye

"I can't do that, milady! I do not have my cellphone with me, and this island does not have a mobile signal." She looked at him and laughed so hard, that her voice echoed through the dense canopy. Elfy and Rhye looked at each other. People think of laughing as a noise that comes from the mouth, but when Lily laughed, it was nothing like that. The laugh was in her eyes, in the way her face changed into that vision of relaxed joy and unrestrained mirth. Yet truly, it wasn't in her face either. Her laugh came from within, it was just the way she was wired. People like her just have more flexible brains, like all that humour bubbling around in her was like yoga for the synapses. And Rhye gaped a
